The Sideways Couch

In my first post, I made reference to my bed, and I promised to write more about it. Being a cat of my word, behold the Sideways Couch.

This is my bed, which the humans call the Sideways Couch, or sometimes “the loft”. Before I moved in, the humans used to sit on this couch. (So I hear.) Around the time I was born, a new couch was purchased, and this older couch was moved into the kitchen for temporary storage until it could be given away. It was still waiting to be given away when I moved to Boston, so I claimed it! Read more

Good Deed for the Day…

Hello all my precious felinista’s! I’m taking my cat ears off for a moment to be serious – I was not planning a post tonight, but an opportunity to help shelter animals came up that was too important not to share with you. The deadline is October 25th – if you go to the link I have provided it will take you to a fellow cat blogger I met on linkedin. Her name is Michele and she has teamed up with Iams petfood to help feed shelter pets who not only need a good home, but need donations to be fed. Go to the site and post a comment – for each comment posted, Iams will donate 25 bowls of food to shelters across the country. This campaign called Iams Bags 4 Bowls, is hoping to provide 5 million bowls of food to shelters around the country. It’s a wonderful program, and it’s in conjunction with Iams Home 4 the Holidays, a partnership with Helen Woodward Animal Center, 3,500 animal organizations worldwide and—proudly—Pet News and Views.

Thank you all for listening and I hope you will take just a few quick minutes to help out a fantastic cause!

Our Reigning Queen…

Okay, so we learned a bit more about Zee the other day. What about Zoey? How best to describe her in a nutshell… hmm… probably a psycho-bitch, hell on wheels, loud, insane, but very sweet and loving Jekyll and Hyde little darling. While she is always a gorgeous spotted mini inspired leopard, that is where the constant ends. Zoey is a dichotomy of every range of personality and behavior possible and her unpredictability is quite predictable.

When we first got her in 2008, she was a much researched purchase that we could not wait to pick up from the chosen cattery. Did Zoey ease into being Zoey? No, Zoey was the full gambit from the moment we got her. When we picked her out, she was the sweetest little slip of a thing. Quiet, reserved and such a precious kitten. When we put her in the carrier to bring her home, she morphed into a full-blown she-devil, wild banshee monster with lungs the size of a whale. She screamed the whole way home and when we brought her into the house, our lives were never the same again! Read more

What?!!! This IS me being nice…

Zoey communicating in her usual pleasant way…  The kittens are about 8 weeks old in this video and doing their best to stay out of Mom’s way!

The Almighty Zee…

Alright, recently I have kind of taken the blog into all sorts of directions and I would like to get back on track to start bringing you into the process of the “how’s” and “why’s” the book “The Chronicles of Zee & Zoey – a Journey of the Extraordinarily Ordinary” began. I will delve a bit deeper into the personalities of Zee, then Zoey, and then we will start chatting about how the book came about.  Read more
