Will the real kitty please stand up!
I just love this picture of our beautiful Ragdoll cat, Mr. Jazz, as he so casually takes a catnap on a life size plush leopard that we have in our dining room, as if it is the most natural and normal thing in the world! Actually though, for our household, that is the most normal thing in the world!

While our humans don’t allow Zoey or I or the other kitties of our house to be outdoor cats, they do take us out on weekend mornings in our fenced backyard for some serious sunning, sniffing, and exploring. Even though we are supervised, we still really appreciate that our humans do this for us and we just want to meow “Thank You” to them because we know it kind of wears them out watching all seven of us.

Ingrid King
One of the many joys of Zee & Zoey’s Chronicle Connection for me has to be all of the wonderful people and animals I am meeting along the way. I never in my wildest dreams thought my life would be so rich a tapestry, filled with so many people that share my love and passion for animals. One of these wonderful people is former veterinary manager, turned writer, Ingrid King. While Ingrid and I have only just begun to strike up a friendship, she is one of those kind souls that I somehow feel I have already known my whole life. I am very drawn to who she is as a person and we share a lot in common, in particular, our love, respect and devotion to cats. It was this common bond that caused our paths to cross and how I came to fall in love with Buckley, a sweet, joyful, and wise beyond her years little cat that was sharing her forever home with Ingrid and the inspiration for the book Ingrid wrote, Buckley’s Story. Mama’s come in all shapes, sizes, colors, species and races. A mother can be a mother by birth, by adoption, by friendship or any number of other circumstances. A mother can even be a male, or maybe an aunt or a sister or someone who is an expecting Mama-to-be. To me, being a mother is defined as being someone who cares for, who nurtures for, who teaches and who inspires. Some of us are good at it and a lot of us still have a lot to learn. Doesn’t really matter how you define the word though – it is personal to all of us and there is no correct definition in my opinion.
