As if Angry Bird isn’t angry enough…now he has to deal with these less than super feeding bowls…

Hey everyone! We’re giving our human a break today and sharing some of our own thoughts. We heard today is the Super Bowl and all we can say is hooray! We’ve got some super bowls at our house and it’s about time we got a whole day to meow about them! Bowls mean food to us and eating is one of our all-time favorite things to do. The problem – while our human did mean well – you know, feeding us healthy food on a regular basis and all, years ago she was doing it using stainless steel bowls that were anything but super. Not only do Peanut, Mia, and Rolz look alike at first glance, but when they’re on top of a leopard bedspread, they look like they could be pillows instead of cats!

I don’t know about you, but whenever I leave the house, I do a cat “head-count.” With my vision still blurry, this presents even more of a challenge than normal when I go to work in the morning, as my cats are quite the masters of disguise and sometimes they don’t cooperate when I call them! A cat makes it seem so simple to sleep in an upright position…but like Zoey here, don’t think just because my eyes are closed that I’m asleep! At least not while I’m on the couch in an uncomfortable position!

As many of you know, l had emergency laser surgery to repair a tear in my left retina on Friday, January 5. It’s been a scary ordeal – I still have significant blurriness and floaters in my eye, which make it quite hard to see much of anything. It’s officially the holidays – a time when one is frequently asked whether they’ve been naughty or nice, suggesting perhaps that if they’re naughty, Santa might not bring them a gift. When it comes to our cats, it’s not so much whether they’ve been naughty or nice; it’s how the holidays actually affect their instinctual behavior, sometimes causing them to be unintentionally naughty when they’re typically otherwise nice. “Cattisms” – those nearly universal behavioral traits our cats have is something I could talk about all day and night if you let me. That’s probably why I enjoyed writing Makin’ Biscuits – Weird Cat Habits and the Even Weirder Habits of the Humans Who Love Them so much – being a cat lover my whole life; I’ve got an endless supply of cattism experience! But, alas, I have laundry to do, and a house to clean, and bills to pay. Time’s a-wastin’ and there are only so many hours in a day! So, rather than focus on all those funny, weird, quirky, and iconic behaviors our cats have, I thought I’d share some of my favorites for today!
