As my series for the Hill’s Science Diet company comes to a close, if there is anything I have learned is that there is a huge variety of food options available for our cats and a wide opinion of what best to feed them. In my house, my cats are proverbial creatures of habit and that includes both the food they eat and the time they want it. Their schedule is so internally structured by them that I could set an alarm to their eating needs. 6:30 am is breakfast, 6:00 pm is dinner, and 9:00 pm is snack time. Food is both a means of sustenance to them as well as a strong component to the feline-human bond we share. Read more

Here we go again… Mom comes back from a conference and whines about being tired… about being so far behind in her blogging and other stuff. Can’t get caught up… blah, blah, boring, blah, blah. Listen lady, if we had thumbs we’d play the violin for you or maybe you’d rather we cry you a river, but truth be told, nobody forced you to become a writer, you wanted to do it, so now you deal with it. So, our suggestion and inspiration for this week’s Tour de Cats edition, courtesy of you, is to just calm down and rest on your laurels. Now that I am back from the Cat Writers’ Conference I have had some time to reflect on what the experience meant to me. This year’s theme was “Reinventing Yourself for the Digital Age” and I found the premise relevant to me on so many levels because I was someone who used to fight the dizzying array of social and technological changes that came my way tooth and nail. I now realize reinvention is akin to a cat who manages to make the difficult task of balancing on a ledge look so graceful and effortless – easier said than done, but the marriage of new and old can be a wonderful balance of reinvention if you embrace and allow it. Hello Everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and sorry for having a Halloween post up for so long! I am dreadfully behind in my blogging and promise once I get settled in that I will put together a nice post with lots of great pictures to recap the Cat Writers’ Conference. It was an incredible event and I’ve got wonderful news to share, but right now my brain feels a bit like jello…

Here it is Halloween and I’m at the Cat Writers’ Conference in Irving, Texas with my fellow talented cat loving friends and mentors. Maybe that’s what has Peanut so spooked – she just found out I won’t be home until Sunday afternoon and I’ll be taking a blogging break this weekend! Oh well, I’m sure the cat swag I bring home will more than make up for it all!
