I can’t lie to you – 2013 was not my favorite year.  There was a lot of angst, stress, and unforeseen circumstances that made life emotionally challenging and difficult to bear. But that’s not to say that the year wasn’t filled with incredible good and joy as well. Our house has been like Grand Central Station since last week with the comings and goings of family for the holidays and it has been so wonderful having them around. I have been able to take some time off from work and have actually allowed myself to relax a bit – I have done some reading, taken a blogging  and Facebook break, and have been treated to many delicious dinners that my family have cooked for all of us. The cats have become accustomed to the change in schedule and have even warmed up in a very non-committal sense to the D.O.G. who never seems to leave. For some Christmas is a time of joyful celebration and for others it may be a time of pain and heartache. I understand the full range of emotion the season can evoke and I respectfully wish all of you blessings from myself, Dan, and the Zee/Zoey feline gang on this day.

We are very blessed to have most of our family with us today and do not take the holiday in vain – for us it is a day to cherish the large and small in our lives and to look forward to a New Year filled with hope and possibility.

Whatever the day means to you, know that you are in our hearts and that we consider your support and friendship a gift each and every day.

Are they here yet, Rolz? Are they here? No… I’m not talking about Santa and his reindeer – I’m talking about the kids!! Yup, tomorrow my youngest son, Joe, from Upstate New York and Dan’s youngest daughter, Jackie, from Boston, will be here to help us celebrate the holidays. And if that isn’t exciting enough, the following week Dan’s oldest daughter, Crystal (also from Boston) and her boyfriend, Dave will be coming by! We will also have Dan’s Mom coming by for a few days and then, of course, there is my Mom and my oldest son, Chris, who both live locally that will be in and out to share in the festivities! Read more
