Snow is what the humans call the white powdery cold pieces that float down from the sky, landing on anything and everything,  The pieces seem to gather together and cover things that aren’t used to being covered, like the lawn, driveway, and trees.  Sometimes the humans have to go outside and move the pieces because they’ve gotten in the way.  Other times, the pieces just go away on their own.  

Even though I look out the window often, and pay very close attention to everything, I never see the pieces go!  They always leave when I’m not watching! Read more

I don’t know where it came from, but I do know that I loved it from the moment I saw it. 

Out of nowhere, it suddenly appeared on the big couch- a large pouch-like device that’s long and green on the outside, orange/yellow and well worn on the inside.  The inside is also comprised of very soft warm cloth, while the green part is smooth like satin.  If unraveled entirely this cloth piece could cover the whole couch, but usually it’s bundled up (or rolled up) and stashed at one edge, near the arm.  Possibly it’s strangest feature is the metal zipper that extends from the top edge of the green side all the way to the opposing bottom edge.  This zipper appears to me to be useless, since I can always crawl in or out through the unzipped part, so I presume that it’s there for decoration.  In that aspect it’s kind of nice. For the first year of my life I was an indoor cat.  I didn’t even really know what “outdoors” meant, other than it was the name given to “the place on the other side of the window”.  On one or two occasions before my first birthday I was able to sneak outside when a human opened the door (I’m very fast), but they always picked me up and brought me back inside immediately.  And scolded me.  I eventually got the idea- that outside was apparently for dogs, birds, squirrels, and humans.  But not Zeuss. Over the past few months, I’ve made a lot of friends.  Most of these friends are humans, who I seem to always get along with.

I also have made a few animal friends, like Sandy the neighborhood dog / nomad…

In my first post, I made reference to my bed, and I promised to write more about it. Being a cat of my word, behold the Sideways Couch.

This is my bed, which the humans call the Sideways Couch, or sometimes “the loft”. Before I moved in, the humans used to sit on this couch. (So I hear.) Around the time I was born, a new couch was purchased, and this older couch was moved into the kitchen for temporary storage until it could be given away.
