It’s Caturday – From Boston to Amsterdam!!

Editors Note: Since we last visited Zeuss in Boston a few weeks ago, he was primarily a solitary cat in a human world. Well, he is so excited to say, that has all changed and he decided to share his story with us! As always, I love a guest post from my favorite Boston kitty!

Zeuss and his human, Sean, enjoying some outside time!

Throughout my life most of my friends have been human.  Admittedly, I’ve become fond of a few canines, but for the most part dogs don’t like to keep in touch.  Humans, on the other hand, are so easy to bond with. They play with me when I want to play, pet me when I rub up on them, and pretty much shower me with attention when I’m in their presence.  Humans just “get” me!  And I “get” them. Read more

A Purr-fect Day – My Reunion With Zeuss Catt

by Deb at 6:50 AM • Zeuss Catt29 Comments

The best part about being a cat blogger, is that when I say that not only did I go to Boston last weekend to visit my step-kids, but to visit one of my dearest cat friends, you all merely nod you heads as if that is the most natural thing ever. Doesn’t everyone get on a plane to visit a cat friend? Of course, by a cat friend, I mean an actual four-legged friend of the feline species… the infamous Zeuss Catt, the other son of Zee and Zoey and brother to Mia, Peanut, and Rolz.  It has been almost 3 years to the day that Zeuss packed his furry bags and boarded a plane with my step-daughter Crystal and her then boyfriend Sean to his  permanent residence in a charming Boston suburb.

L to R - Peanut, Mia, Zeuss, and Rolz - one of the last pictures of all four of the kittens together.

When he first left us, it was both joyful and painful. Joyful in that I knew Crystal and Sean would be wonderful guardians to Zeuss, but painful in that it would be the last time I would see this sweet kitten that was such an ingrained part of my life. Dan and I had already agreed we were going to keep the remaining kittens, as we were so in love with them and could not bear the thought of parting with them, but these kittens had literally been together with us 24/7 and it was hard to imagine not having Zeuss with us anymore. Caturday – Zeuss Catt and his Interpretation of Jackson Galaxy and Da Bird

by Zeuss Catt at 6:50 AM • Videos, Zeuss Catt25 Comments

Editors Note: I am happy to say that Zeuss Catt from Boston and his human Sean, are both “My Cat From Hell” converts now that I have brought the show to their attention. Zeuss is the most amazing cat – he actually does not have behavioral issues – he has captivated me with his intelligence, witty writing skills, and superior athleticism since he was a little kitten. Please enjoy his take on Jackson Galaxy and the infamous “Da Bird” toy as he discusses the show from his point of view.

Jackson Galaxy

Last month Deb posted an interview with a human named Jackson Galaxy.  Mr. Galaxy is an actor, and he stars in my new favorite TV program My Cat from Hell.  Each episode consists of Galaxy portraying a “cat behaviorist” who visits with some troubled cats and their humans.  Galaxy uses hypnotic eyeglasses and his magic case of toys to win over the troubled cats, thereby saving the day and gaining the respect of the other humans.

Mr. Galaxy excels in his starring role, but this show wouldn’t be so much fun to watch without the performances of some top-notch feline co-stars.  These cats demonstrate tremendous range while acting out their varied roles and deserve to be recognized.  Bear, Lu Lu, Sully, Duff, Minibar, Larry, Avery- I’m sure that I’m forgetting some names- all of these cat actors gave great performances and had great chemistry with Mr. Galaxy. Bring on the Squirrels!!

Editors Note: It’s been a while since we’ve heard from our buddy Zeuss Catt from Boston. With fall just around the corner, it got me to thinking of when I used to live in Upstate New York – it was right around this time that we would start to see squirrels getting ready for the upcoming winter. I happen to love squirrels, so you can imagine how happy I was when Zeuss decided to share this story about his own fascination with this creature.

Fence Walking
by Zeuss

I’ve been studying squirrels lately, and their climbing habits. These small, spastic creatures have some impressive skills when it comes to avoiding a much smarter, handsome animal. Squirrels are able to climb anything, it seems, which facilitates their escape from yours truly. Fences, trees, houses, recycling bins… you name it, and a squirrel has climbed it. Read more

Woof!! It’s Caturday!

by Deb at 9:00 AM • Videos, Zeuss Catt8 Comments

Editors Note: It’s been a while since we’ve had a post from our favorite guest blogger –  Zee and Zoey’s son – Zeuss Catt from Boston. He decides to critique a toy that is very popular in the canine world…. regrettably, he does not give it a full “paws up” of approval. He does know he is a cat, right?

Woof

by Zeuss Catt

One of the humans brought home a very strange toy. It was presented to me while I was lounging upstairs in my room, and I must write that I’m not impressed. This particular toy is called a woof.

I’d always wanted to try out a “dog toy”, and you won’t find a more classic “dog toy” than the woof. It’s blue and has a comically weird shape. “How weird is this shape,” you ask?  Think “cartoon-bone” weird, and did I mention that it’s blue? When you squeeze it, the woof makes a loud, shrill squeak, although not usually for a prolonged amount of time. At least, not while I played with it. The human seemed to love making the woof squeak, and waving this odd object in my face. Read more
