The Zee & Zoey Cats and Family

Standing Room Only? For My Cats, It’s Lying Room Only

This photo from 2020 sums me up. Anywhere I am, there will be a cat, or two, or three…

My cats, no matter what point in the journey of my life, have always been bonded to me. Some more than others, ranging from degrees of “Yes, please make sure to pat me when you walk by, but then go your merry way,” to “Oh my God, no! Please don’t ever let me out of your sight, my life as I know it will be over if I don’t know where you are at all times!” In early March of this year, that dynamic shifted, with nearly all of my current gang of seven consumed with the need to be near me. Happy 15th Birthday Zoey and Cat Safety Tips for Easter

It’s happened again. Time has passed at a crazy pace, and in what seems like seconds later, my precious Zoey is now 15 years old. It’s been an interesting year with my girl since her birthday last year, as it marks the first time sharing the day without her true love, Zee, our sweet boy we had to say goodbye to on March 18, 2022. The Missing You, One Year Anniversary of Saying Goodbye to Zee

It’s nearly impossible to believe our precious Zee has been gone a full year. He brought so much love, light, and joy to our lives and the hole in our hearts remains deep. Since I was blessed that he didn’t mind being snuggled or held, I’ve created a collage of some of my favorite pictures with him to honor his passing.

Goodbye sweet Zee, forever and always in my heart.

A Sliver of Sunshine is a Cat’s Happy Slice of Life

Jazmine and her slice of sunshine.

The other day, Jazmine scratched at the floor and did her circle-around thing before she quietly settled. She had found the last sliver of sunlight before the day would soon set to nightfall and basked in its delicious warmth. I love her attitude. Finding joy in the smallest moments of life. A cup is half full, not half empty, kind of cat. We can learn lessons from our cats – they teach us every day, and this is one lesson I try my best to live by as well.

Happy Sunday and warm purrs to you all.

ProCATstinating – Not Getting Things Done and Feline Good About It

I’m a highly goal-oriented, check-things-off-the-list-get-things-done kind of person. I’m also a vegetarian with healthy eating habits. I don’t smoke, and I try to get my 10,000 steps a day in, too. Because of that, I’ve never been much on New Year resolutions, but this new year made me realize that despite some of my better habits, I’m also great at proCATstinating about certain mundane things. For example, putting away laundry, unpacking suitcases, making the bed, and keeping the couch pillows and blankets in tidy order. Now, you caught me; I said proCATstinating, right?
