Don’t worry guys – your needs are at the top of our list!

I normally don’t post mid-week anymore, but Hurricane Matthew is heading our way and I just wanted to touch base in case I can’t communicate for awhile. Dan and I have been busy preparing the house to make sure we have a safe area to stay while we ride things out. It looks like we’ll be hit some time on Thursday and I pray everything will be okay.

Our prayers also go out to those already affected in areas of Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and the Bahamas. I also pray as the storm moves up the eastern coast that everyone will be okay.

Blessings to you all and I’ll post updates on Facebook if and when I can.

We’ll be creating a safe haven in our bedroom to ride out the storm…looks like the cats have approved the arrangements!

My Zee is the epitome of a Maine Coon cat – he’s loving, loyal, and intelligent.

I love Zee. He’s such a sweet, gentle, and kind cat and he demonstrates his love back to me each and every day. He talks to me with his extensive meow vocabulary, he follows me around like a loyal puppy dog, and he patiently waits for me to get up off the couch at night to go to bed so he can cuddle next to me before he eventually settles in to sleep next to my head for the rest of the night. He also brings me gifts at various times of the day, such as stuffed toys dropped at my feet to show his love. But what he did this past Tuesday was so touching, thoughtful, and heartfelt it brought me to tears. Read more

Happy 11th Birthday to my beautiful Zee who was born on 9/7/2005.

Wednesday was Zee’s 11th birthday. Due to my work schedule, I’m not able to blog during the week like I used to, so I wasn’t able to put up a post to celebrate the day. I did share the news on Facebook and I want to thank everyone who was kind enough to wish him a Happy Birthday. Finally settled in after my hectic trip to Arizona a couple weeks ago for the BlogPaws/Cat Writers’ Association Conference, I received a phone call from fellow CWA member, Dusty Rainbolt. She had been a past president of the organization at one point, and I was now officially Vice-President, and she wanted to talk to me about my upcoming book project that she’s going to be a part of. There’s not many households where sibling kitties are still living with their cat parents, but in my household, they are! Mia, Peanut, and Rolz are graced to have mama Zoey and papa Zee in their lives and it’s been an incredible journey watching them grow together as a family. They remain bonded and devoted to one another which makes it all the more fitting for this Father’s Day! Read more
