Happy Birthday sweet Jazmine!

Unbelievable, that cute little pipsqueak that Dan and I fell head over heels in love with when we first saw her up for adoption at the Global Pet Expo in March of 2014 and subsequently adopted (how could we not?) is 5 years old today! How is that possible? It seems like just yesterday she was a tiny, puff of diva fur ruling the household. Now, here she is, a giant puff of diva fur, ruling the household!

Anyhow, Happy Birthday to my dear, precious Jazmine. I wish I had the time to do a long post in your honor, but it’s just not in the cards for me right now. But I can promise you that you’ll be spoiled even more than you already are. I love you and cherish every second of love, laughter, and sunshine you bring into my heart and the hearts of others.

A whole lotta Jazmine love and wisdom for this Sunday!

I don’t have the time for it, nor do I need another hobby, but sometimes I wish I could take professional quality photos with a professional camera. This image is of my lovely Jazmine that I took with my iPhone that would have been particularly stunning with the right camera. She’s been hanging out with me a lot lately – this is her on the shelf above my computer and I was able to capture her fawning down on me. She’s quite the flirt when she does that – she makes biscuits into the air while purring a love song and it’s about one of the most heart-melting things on this earth.

As always, she serves as a wonderful reminder for Sunday to relax, enjoy your cats, and maybe even take a nap! I know Jazmine will be doing that for sure!

A cat makes it seem so simple to sleep in an upright position…but like Zoey here, don’t think just because my eyes are closed that I’m asleep! At least not while I’m on the couch in an uncomfortable position!

As many of you know, l had emergency laser surgery to repair a tear in my left retina on Friday, January 5. It’s been a scary ordeal – I still have significant blurriness and floaters in my eye, which make it quite hard to see much of anything. I was also given doctor’s orders to sleep sitting up, which I have to say is nearly impossible. Read more

It’s often said when one rescues a pet that it’s the pet that rescues the person. There’s a reason for it – because it’s true. At least it’s true for me and the story I share in the anthology, Rescued Volume 2: The Healing Stories of 12 Cats, Through Their Eyes. No one in our house does “Easy Like Sunday Morning” better than Jazmine. Actually, she does it best Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday morning as well. When that girl is out, she’s out! Anyhow, taking a cue from her, I’m looking forward to an easy-going kind of day myself. Maybe visiting a wetlands nature park with Dan so he can practice with his new camera taking pictures of Florida wildlife. I’ll also be making a big batch of homemade macaroni and cheese so I’ll have several meals prepared in advance for the week ahead and I’ll be using up some over-ripe bananas to make bread as well.
