Please – A Little Peace and Quiet for Sunday

Rolz and Peanut

Well, it’s 2021 and we’re already off to a crazy start. I don’t know about you all, but I’m in need of some centering, and what better way for calm, peace, and Zen, than sharing some Sunday Selfie pictures of my cats who have perfected the art of chill (in-between the cat fights and general mayhem, of course).

Anyhow, hope everyone is doing well. I got an Instant Pot Pressure Cooker & Air Crisp Duo for Christmas, so I’ve been busy learning how to use the darn thing. It’s rather intimidating at first, but I gave macaroni and cheese a try and it was not only DELICIOUS but super easy to cook (clean up, not so much…the pot was really hard to wash).

Have a great day everyone and enjoy the peace. And if any of you are Instant Pot pros, please feel free to share tips!

Reflecting on 2020 and Onward to 2021 at Zee & Zoey’s Cat Chronicles

While not recent, this was Harley’s last photo. We had no idea at the time it would become a memory, and not a moment. 2020 has reinforced that sentiment deeply – be grateful for what you have, as you never know when it will be gone.

2020 was a time of hardship, pain, sacrifice, and uncertainties but it was also a time of reflection, reinvention, self-discovery, and a new landscape of blessings. Like many, I say good riddance to much the year has brought, but I’m also grateful for what it gave. Read more

Happy and Safe Thanksgiving From All of Us at Zee & Zoey’s Cat Chronicles 2020

May this Thanksgiving bring you peace, love, safety, and reasons to reflect on what’s still good in this world and in your life. We’re grateful for all the friendships we’ve made on this blog and always appreciate your visits.

Love and purrs from Deb and her feline gang (as seated in order at the table, starting bottom left) Shadow, Peanut, Rolz, Mia, Zee, Zoey, Kizmet, and Jazmine.

And as we share every year, when it comes to our kitties, no matter how tempting it might be to give certain foods to our feline friends, please keep the tips to follow in mind for the health and safety of your cat.

Moments Captured in Time – Portraits of Mia

For Mia and me, our happiest moments are those that are also the quietest.

I love all my cats, each for their wonderfully distinct personalities, but I share a special affinity for my sweet Mia, a cat who most vividly mirrors me if I were a cat and she a human. We both have our moments of strength and boldness, but for the most part, we are introverts at heart, rather unbothered by our frequent desire for peace and solitude. Read more

The Many Wonderful Roles of Mom

Zoey back in 2008 with kitten, Rolz. Happy Mother’s Day to her, too, because she’s a mom, too!

Mom. Three little letters, but three little letters that are unique in meaning to all of us. For me, I’m a mom to my sons, Chris and Joe. I’m a daughter to my mom, and a step-mom to Dan’s kids – Crystal, Michael, and Jackie, as well as a daughter-in-law to his mom. I’m also a mother-in-law to Chris’s husband, Jason, and I’m a grandma to not only their dogs Rick and Rocco, and cat Rose, but a first-time grandma to their adopted son, Calvin. And, of course, I’m a cat mom to my gang – Zee, Zoey, Mia, Peanut, Rolz, Kizmet, Jazmine, and our newest feline family member, Shadow.

Through all these roles, there have been good times and bad. Highs, lows, ups, and downs. That’s what life is – a kaleidoscope quilt built of memories and relationships. Whatever the day is for you, I hope you make the best of it. For me, I’ll be spending some masked time with my grandson and I can’t wait. Take care everyone and I hope you enjoy my Mother’s Day photos.

Hanging out at the Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood a couple of years ago with my step-son Michael who was visiting from Boston. I was made fun of for being a Dolphin Fan, but we won the game the next day against the Patriots!

One of my all-time favorite pictures that truly represents the bond between me and my cats. This was all seven before we added Shadow to the mix.

Can’t forget my newest feline sweetie to capture my heart this Mother’s Day – Shadow.

My favorite mom role? Being grandma to my first grandson, precious Calvin.
