Rainy season in South Florida typically begins sometime in the month of May. True to form, I think it rained nearly every single day since then, up until June 21st, the official first day of summer. Mother Nature, taking it as a literal cue, flipped a switch and it was officially hot. Writing and publishing a book is a bit like having a baby. It takes several long months before the book is completed and once it is, you share the news like a proud parent who has just delivered a newborn baby. It’s Monday and I don’t know about you, but for me, the two things that get me going and help keep me motivated for the week ahead are my cats and coffee! Here’s to a good week everyone – and if you happen to celebrate the holidays and are looking for that purr-fect gift for that cat loving, caffeine guzzling person on your list, stop by at RCTees where you can find not only the great shirt I’m wearing, but a whole host of cat-related clothing!

I have several shirts from RCTees and love that they come to you new, but with that already soft, broken-in feeling. You know what I mean – the kind of shirt you put on that instantly feels like a warm, comforting hug! It’s that time of year when the Christmas decorations come out of storage. Mia seems to think I took them out just for her enjoyment…

Sure, life is stressful and far from perfect, but it’s that wonderful time of the year when I try to take a break from it all and focus on what’s truly important to me…my family. My book is done, blogging will be at a minimum, and most of my time will be spent doing what I love – getting the house ready for family and friends who will be coming by for the holidays!!

In a house like mine, I’m never without a cat or two wanting to help out!! Thanks Kizmet – nice job knocking the decorations over!

I’ve been checking my list to see who’s naughty and nice. I’ve decided to forego the naughty and focus on the nice…especially when it comes to my cats…as what might appear to be naughty to some, is actually them trying to be nice by “helping” out!!
