Happy Birthday to a very special and extraordinary cat.

I’m nearly 60 years old and cats have been a part of my life all of those years, probably totaling at least a couple dozen during that timeframe. And I love them all – past and present – each with their wonderfully unique personalities. I won’t say I have favorites, that’s not my style, but I can say every once in a while one of them really stands out, having an extraordinarily special nature. Kizmet is one of those cats. He’s a cat in which the earth revolves on a very special axis – one that is exceptionally kind, tolerant, intuitive, loving, patient, and accepting. Rolz looking as dapper as ever…

Oh! Lucky me! Look’s like I’ll be having a nice and leisurely weekend. Never mind. I just read the rest of the caption! MOL – hope everyone has a great, fun, and safe April Fool’s, er, I mean April Mew’s Day! And just out of curiosity, just what will your cat vow NOT to do today?

The last time I was in NYC was in 2010 – I was attending a writing conference that had nothing to do with cats. A few months after that, I found the strength and resolve to start Zee & Zoey’s blog and write my first book! 5 years later… wow… so much of my life has changed!

I had not mentioned this earlier, so it may come as a surprise to some of you to find out I have just returned from a two day, all expenses paid trip to New York City!! I was selected by Purina to attend the 2015 Better With Pets Summit and it was an opportunity too good to pass up. Not only would I be learning about ways to improve the emotional wellness between pets and the people that love them, but I would also get to hang out with some of my fellow blogging friends, meet new ones, and get paid to write about it. What?!!!!!!

I will be blogging about my experiences over the next couple of weeks, but for now, I just want to share all the eclectic, behind the scenes kind of stuff that won’t be making the professional editing cut! Read more

I’ve been blogging since 2010, so I think I know all of you pretty well by now… That said, no point in preaching to the choir… I know you all know how wonderful cats are and I know that as far as you’re concerned, just like me, you think every day should be National Cat Day!
