So, it’s St. Patrick’s Day…or in my world, St. Catrick’s Day. I had hoped to put together a fun new graphic for the day, but unfortunately, life has stepped in with different plans. You may recall I had emergency retina surgery for my left eye back in January. Well, things have been a bit blurry lately and I might need additional surgery to take care of a wrinkle that has developed in the retina.

I’m trying to stay positive. My eye doctor is fantastic, so paws crossed it’s just a minor blip and I won’t need surgery. I’ll know within the next few weeks, but until then, it’s me at my computer, squinting as I type, hoping I’m not making too many typos!

Like a lot of people across the world, I’ve been enjoying the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. Turns out I’m not the only one in my house who feels the same way! As you can see from this short video montage, my Zoey is absolutely mesmerized by the athletes and has been watching via a front row seat since the games began. She’s so enthralled by the event that sometimes I’ll catch her watching the TV with no one else in the room! The other cats…not a single one of them could care at all!

But since she only seems to have a proclivity toward the Olympics, I’m making this exception for her and not requesting she get down!

I’m at work all week long, but on evenings and weekends, I spend a good amount of my time at my computer. Kizmet is my best-friend buddy and prefers I spend time with him. Rather than wait for me to wrap up the day to go sit on the couch for the rest of the night, he’s ingeniously figured out his own way of being next to me. Hey everyone – we just wanted to take an extremely brief second from our delightful sunlit infused nap to revel in the glory that is Sunday. There’s nothing better than being a cat and spending the entire glorious, wonderful, beautiful, gorgeous day relaxing and taking it easy. It truly doesn’t get any better than this…

Wait a minute…there seems to be a distinctively ominous change in the air…is something going on?

Yes kitties, you are right. There is a distinctive change in the air. It’s me. I’m already feeling anxious knowing this upcoming week will be the last one before the onslaught of chaotic, nightmarish bumper-to-bumper traffic, and horrendous driving to work delays will happen because school starts again on August 21. My normal 20 minute drive will now escalate to 45 minutes or more and no matter how hard I try to remain calm and unaffected by it, I can’t. Traffic delays make me nuts and despite my relatively peaceful nature, it gets my blood boiling.

But honestly guys, I don’t know what the panic is. You don’t drive. You don’t work. And for that matter, you don’t go to school. Your life will remain exactly the same – living the life of deeply spoiled cats who are loved and adored by their humans to the ends of the earth and back.

Actually, I take that back. You’ll lives will chance slightly. Rather than me coming home from work my normal grumpy self, I will be even more grumpy! I will grab my glass of wine quicker than normal, but I promise, you will still be fed nearly two seconds after I walk in the door, and you will be able to look forward to me brushing you, playing with you, and giving you treats like I do any other day…

Happy Sunday everyone!! I hope you have a day that is as great as the one my cats will have! If you live in Florida like I do, chances are school will be starting within the next week or so for you, too. School starts earlier here than it does in the Northern states, but it also ends earlier, too, so it all evens out in the end!
