Jazmine asks the question we’re all wondering…

Oh Jazmine…if only it were…It’s hard to believe that here it is, almost the end of February and over 68 million people are being affected by the ravages of winter. Or at least that’s what I think the number is – I heard Lester Holt say that on the news the other night, but being that he hasn’t had a day off since Brian Williams has been suspended, I’m not sure how clear his memory is either. But, in all fairness to both gentleman, I barely remember what I ate for dinner yesterday or what day of the week it is for that matter.

What I do know is that I’m pretty sure most of the country has had enough of the snow and is looking forward to clear roads and warmer days. Until that happens, enjoy this picture of my kitties snuggling on our favorite winter blanket, “Big Red” (yes, it even gets cold in Florida).

And just like that – here it is, Super Bowl weekend. Before I get this post going, let me set the record straight for you. While I do watch football and enjoy it, I am by no means an expert on the sport. As a matter of fact, the only way I know if a team has done something good or bad is based on the tone of the voice of the announcer. In order to keep up with which team is winning, I have to look at the score posted on the top left side of my TV screen. And if the uniform colors of the teams playing one another are similar, I know even less about what is going on.

It’s not that I couldn’t learn the mechanics of the game, I probably could, I just prefer not to. I just beat to my own drum like that. I’ve been to actual games, I ran a football pool at work back in the day, and I’m always a loyal fan to wherever I live at the moment. Just like that, it’s already “National Answer Your Cat’s Question Day” and I must admit I’m a bit overwhelmed by the whole thing.  It’s not so much that I mind answering their questions, but I do have several cats – seven of them to be precise – and so that’s potentially a lot of questions to fit in between my full-time job, blogging, maintaining my household, and writing a book. But hey, I’m a good sport, so what’s one or two or seven questions among friends? I’m sure it won’t be that big a deal and hopefully we will all learn some invaluable information about cats based on the caliber of quality questions I am certain to be asked. There was a time, many moons ago when I had control of my life and knew what day of the week it was at all times. Morning, noon, and night came with regularity and I used a calendar to help me mark the passing of time. I always loved calendars (with pictures of cats, naturally) and would use them to jot down special milestones and then when the year would end, I would save the calendar amongst other precious mementos collected throughout the year like greeting cards, letters, and photos.
