Zee Shares a Gift of Love

Maine Coon cats are the gentle giants

My Zee is the epitome of a Maine Coon cat – he’s loving, loyal, and intelligent.

I love Zee. He’s such a sweet, gentle, and kind cat and he demonstrates his love back to me each and every day. He talks to me with his extensive meow vocabulary, he follows me around like a loyal puppy dog, and he patiently waits for me to get up off the couch at night to go to bed so he can cuddle next to me before he eventually settles in to sleep next to my head for the rest of the night. He also brings me gifts at various times of the day, such as stuffed toys dropped at my feet to show his love. But what he did this past Tuesday was so touching, thoughtful, and heartfelt it brought me to tears. Read more

Sunday Selfie – Finding the Joy in Simple Moments

Mia and Peanut sharing some cuddle time!

This picture of Mia and Peanut was taken back in 2009. While I certainly had my share of setbacks back then, I often find myself yearning for those days when life seemed simpler. Everything is just so hectic and stressful nowadays. But for a cat, they seize the moment and take the time to relax. Wise lesson that I hope to learn one day…

I hope this Sunday will give you pause to relax. At the very least, I hope these pictures gave you a smile and a bit of happiness in your day!

Help! Need Some Last Minute Submissions for Upcoming Cat-Related Book!

LastChance

Okay Peanut… I think everyone gets it… you need some help. No need to shout!

Wow! Hard to believe, but my upcoming book is finally starting to take shape! Focusing on the silly, odd, crazy, and weird things our cats do, the premise is simple—with over 70 million homeless cats living on the streets and in shelters in the U.S. alone, it’s my hope to bring attention to the public eye how wonderful cats are as pets to help increase adoptions. I want to bust the myth that they’re too aloof to make good pets, which is one of the reasons they are sometimes overlooked for adoption. Read more

The Many Ways to Hug a Cat for Hug Your Cat Day

Hugging a cat is good for your heart, health, and soul.

Me at my happiest – surrounded by my beautiful furbabies – Zee, Zoey, Kizmet, Jazmine, Peanut, Rolz, and Mia.

It’s National Hug Your Cat Day and I find myself in an interesting spot. I love, love, love my cats and would hug them 27/7/365 if I could. But I’m now in a situation where unlike previous day jobs I’ve had that allowed me some flexibility, I’m working full-time and don’t have anywhere near the free time I used to. It is what it is… I have to pay the bills, but as a consequence, everything has taken a back burner – my ability to write blog posts with frequency, my ability to comment on other blogs, and my time with my cats. Cats in the Tabloids… A Peek into the Feline Mind

true confessions

With me working on my next book about the weird and strange behaviors our cats have (as well as the weird habits we have as people for loving them) it’s given me lots of time to concentrate on funny cat stuff. That got me to thinking about what it would be like if cats had their own tabloid magazine like the National Enquirer!

Hope you enjoy my take on it! Have a wonderful weekend and if you care to submit your own “cat weird” for the book, please visit my submission post for details.

Thanks and I’ll see you on Monday to honor Memorial Day.
