Catreesort – Product Review and Exclusive Discount Offer for Zee/Zoey Readers!

Cats have an instinctual need and desire for tall vertical spaces, places to hide to feel secure, and the outdoors, but as pet guardians, how do we combine all of these unique elements into one practical entity to fulfill those feline needs with style, safety, functionality, and comfort? The answer came to me quite unexpectedly one day when I received a random email from a company called “Catreesort.”

The email was brief and simply said “I am a manufacturer of a new great cat tree called “Catreesort” designed to look like a real tree in your house, and yes, it’s washable!” I get a lot of emails about cat products for me to try out, but very few catch my attention as being something new and unique. This one, however, intrigued me – my cats love trees and I wanted to see what a cat tree resort actually looked like. Somehow I envisioned it as something I might see on an episode of Jackson Galaxy’s “My Cat From Hell” as a positive behavioral apparatus to keep a cat happy and stimulated and I wanted to see if my instinct was right. Memorial Weekend With the Zee & Zoey Kitties – A Little of This and a Little of That…

Kizmet

Kizmet says that we have a little of this and a little of that planned for this holiday weekend. How about you, what plans do you have?

Now that all the dust has settled from returning home from BlogPaws, I am looking forward to spending a much needed three day holiday weekend with Dan and the kitties. What do we have in store you might ask? Well, to start with, today I will actually be spending an hour in the pampered flat table of luxury getting a professional massage which is just about one of my all time favorite things to do ever. And just how many professional massages have I gotten? Well, counting the one today, it will bring the total up to a mind boggling two…

Cat massage - picture is all over the internet so must be in the public domain

Sigh… if only I could get my cats to give me back massages. Sure, they “make biscuits” on my soft tummy all the time, but it’s not the same as a great back massage. When my cats massage my tummy, all that happens is that they jiggle my innards so that my stomach ends up growling and gurgling like some weird plumbing device… Photo courtesy of healthwise-everything.blogspot.com

Yeah… I have chronic lower back pain and a massage is about the only time I don’t feel an ache in my back, but who can afford massages on a regular basis? I know I sure can’t and the one I am having today is courtesy of a Christmas gift voucher that expires on May 27th! Nothing like waiting until the last minute! Oh well, I know I will love it and since the first massage I got last year, I have smartened up and this is what I ask for as my annual Christmas gift from my mother, so at least I know to mark my calendar for next year!

Next on the agenda is something I am both looking forward to and dreading at the same time…. Dan and I will be looking for a car since his is over 22 years old and is literally disintegrating as we speak. Sure, it still runs, that is when it starts, but sometimes a car just needs to be retired to the Car Rainbow Bridge and put out of its misery. Our plan is simple – try everything humanly possible to find a reliable used car on our own before we have to resort to pulling into an actual car lot that requires us to talk to a car salesman. For those of you that know me, you know that I am a relatively soft-spoken and mild mannered person… Dan, however, when it comes to car salespeople and himself are like a mega dose of oil and water… they don’t mix well and I’ll just put it this way, is it too early to have a couple stiff drinks in the morning before we hit the car lot? It’s 5:00 pm somewhere, right?

Sure… maybe this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but for me, this car is right up my alley! Anyone know where I can find a used Lamborghini for cheap? Photo courtesy of Google images.

Aside from looking for a car, there will also be lots of catching up on laundry, commenting on blogs, replying to emails, and even some outdoor barbecuing, hanging out in our tiki, gardening, and maybe even reading a book or two and some cat napping! Honestly I don’t care what I do. I am just thrilled to have an extra day off to spend with Dan and the kitties and chill a bit after the whirlwind of BlogPaws.

Zoey-reading

I don’t know if she is biased considering that most of the book is about her, but Zoey happens to love The Chronicles of Zee and Zoey so much that she won’t leave the book alone and it is on her “must read” recommended book list for all of you! She also wants you to know that between now and May 31st, for any book sales generated through our www.zeezoey.com website, $5.00 of the proceeds will be donated to the Central Oklahoma Humane Society to help the animals affected by the recent tornadoes.

Harley has the act of playing and napping down to a purr-fect science! Sigh… to be that relaxed… what a luxury!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and that you have a safe and wonderful holiday weekend. Blessings to all and a special thank you to all the men and women who died while serving for our freedoms in this great country of ours.

Oh, and as a side note, I accidentally left my camera case at BlogPaws in case any of you found an extra one that you don’t know where it came from. The last I seem to remember seeing it was right before someone took a picture of me with Terry Frum wearing a pair of my cat ears. Oh, and also, I lost my 600 million dollar winning Powerball ticket. I would appreciate it if whoever has it would return it to me as soon as possible… Thanks!

BlogPaws Conference 2013 – Putting it Into Perspective

While I was technically only gone a few days attending the 2013 BlogPaws Conference, when I returned home on Sunday it took me a while to adjust back from being treated like a pampered queen to the jarring reality of dealing with the frustrations of driving to and from work in congested rush hour traffic to a completely non-feline related day job, massive pounds of laundry, grocery shopping, cooking dinner, and the unglamorous role of litter scooping servant to my eight cats who seemed overjoyed to bestow me with an endless supply of “gifts.”

After the devastating and overwhelming events in Oklahoma and nearby areas that have been affected by the brutal aftermath of the tornadoes, my annoyances seemed so petty and insignificant, causing me to question if I should even bother posting about BlogPaws at all. In the scheme of things it seems so frivolous and unnecessary, but then I realized nothing could be further from the truth because in actuality, it is the very people who make up the microcosm of BlogPaws that are the very people who are the harbingers to helping others, whether it be two legged, four legged, fur, feathers, or anything in-between. The people who are part of the BlogPaws family are your bloggers, your rescue volunteers, your shelter workers, your veterinarians, your blog readers, your social media giants, your pet related retailers and food manufacturers, and so much more. We inspire our communities to make the world a better place and the people of Oklahoma will need our love, support, prayers, voices, strength, fund raising efforts, ideas, mental and physical power, and tenacity to help them get through this.  Read more

Home From BlogPaws… As if it Matters…

cat-swag

Well, I’m back from BlogPaws safe and sound and you can see that the cats are thrilled to see me… Normally I come back with kitty swag overload to bribe entice them back into my good graces quickly, but I am sad to say that I did not even have a single feather toy or measly catnip mouse to pull out of my suitcase bag of tricks for them.  There were dog toys galore at the conference, but for us feline lovers, we were left  in the dust with the exception of several bags of tasty kibble treats.

Once the cats realized I had nothing to offer other than treats that they are already accustomed to getting on a daily basis, they took a brief moment from napping to glare at me and then went back to treating me with the proper disdain I deserved after abandoning them for three days…

I promise once I catch my breath and collect my thoughts I will update you with all the BlogPaws comings and goings for those of you who could not make it. But here’s a hint for you, despite the lack of cat swag, it was fun!!
