Memorial Weekend With the Zee & Zoey Kitties – A Little of This and a Little of That…
Now that all the dust has settled from returning home from BlogPaws, I am looking forward to spending a much needed three day holiday weekend with Dan and the kitties. What do we have in store you might ask? Well, to start with, today I will actually be spending an hour in the pampered flat table of luxury getting a professional massage which is just about one of my all time favorite things to do ever. And just how many professional massages have I gotten? Well, counting the one today, it will bring the total up to a mind boggling two…
Yeah… I have chronic lower back pain and a massage is about the only time I don’t feel an ache in my back, but who can afford massages on a regular basis? I know I sure can’t and the one I am having today is courtesy of a Christmas gift voucher that expires on May 27th! Nothing like waiting until the last minute! Oh well, I know I will love it and since the first massage I got last year, I have smartened up and this is what I ask for as my annual Christmas gift from my mother, so at least I know to mark my calendar for next year!
Next on the agenda is something I am both looking forward to and dreading at the same time…. Dan and I will be looking for a car since his is over 22 years old and is literally disintegrating as we speak. Sure, it still runs, that is when it starts, but sometimes a car just needs to be retired to the Car Rainbow Bridge and put out of its misery. Our plan is simple – try everything humanly possible to find a reliable used car on our own before we have to resort to pulling into an actual car lot that requires us to talk to a car salesman. For those of you that know me, you know that I am a relatively soft-spoken and mild mannered person… Dan, however, when it comes to car salespeople and himself are like a mega dose of oil and water… they don’t mix well and I’ll just put it this way, is it too early to have a couple stiff drinks in the morning before we hit the car lot? It’s 5:00 pm somewhere, right?
Aside from looking for a car, there will also be lots of catching up on laundry, commenting on blogs, replying to emails, and even some outdoor barbecuing, hanging out in our tiki, gardening, and maybe even reading a book or two and some cat napping! Honestly I don’t care what I do. I am just thrilled to have an extra day off to spend with Dan and the kitties and chill a bit after the whirlwind of BlogPaws.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and that you have a safe and wonderful holiday weekend. Blessings to all and a special thank you to all the men and women who died while serving for our freedoms in this great country of ours.
Oh, and as a side note, I accidentally left my camera case at BlogPaws in case any of you found an extra one that you don’t know where it came from. The last I seem to remember seeing it was right before someone took a picture of me with Terry Frum wearing a pair of my cat ears. Oh, and also, I lost my 600 million dollar winning Powerball ticket. I would appreciate it if whoever has it would return it to me as soon as possible… Thanks!
That leopard print Lamborghini definitely has your name on it! Have a wonderful holiday weekend!
You have a wonderful weekend as well, Ingrid!
Deb, not sure where you live but check to see if you have a chain called Massage Envy. You pay a monthly fee and get a massage a month with this fee. Any additional massages you schedule that month are at the member rate. I’ve been a member for over 5 years and get two 90 minute massages a month. It is my special treat for myself. Not only is it a mental retreat, it also works out all the aches and pains I have.
Good luck on your car search.
Kathryn – we do have that chain around here so I will have to look into that! Thanks for letting me know!
OMC we love that car!!
Have a fun weekend!
The Florida Furkids
I know, The Florida Furkids… isn’t that car just amazing!!
What in the world is it with you and cameras/cases at BlogPaws???!!! lol!!! This time I can’t help! 🙂
LOVE the photo of Harley…too adorable and YES that car has YOUR name all over it!
I know, Caren… I am pathetic!! This time I think it was the distraction of Christine and Tamar yelling at me that we had to catch a cab for dinner while I was in the midst of wrapping up my book signing and taking a picture of Terry in cat ears… it was just too much stimulation all at once and the camera bag got lost in the fray!
Such wonderful photos! Good luck hunting the car, that doesn’t sound like too much fun but I love the one you had here today. Have a wonderful holiday weekend everyone!!!
Sounds like you all have a great week end planned. We plan on doing nothing except maybe mowing a little bit of grass. Hope you have a wonderful time.
Massages….! LOVE them! But I agree, so hard to justify that kind of expense. Wishing you a relaxing weekend – have you recovered from BP yet? What a wonderful whirlwind time. And oh yes, that Lamborghini…totally you.
Sounds like a perfect weekend, Deb. …though it sounds like you could fill a whole week with all that relaxation. (oh…and the dreaded car shopping.)
You know…I’ve got some connections with a company that does graphic vehicle wraps. Just thinkin’!!!
Enjoy! …and have a nice cocktail under the Tiki for me.
; ) GG
The adorable pic of Harley made my day, although I’d love a massage too! Odin could use some purrs 🙁
What a busy weekend you have planned. May we suggest you emulate Harley and do some serious cat napping. After your message that’s probably all you’ll feel like doing. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
That is a gorgeous picture of Harley! I treat myself to a hot stone massage when we are on a cruise. Expensive but pure bliss.
It sounds like you have a busy weekend planned. We hope you enjoyed your massage…the mom is a little envious. She’s only had one massage in her life and she loved it…she felt like jello afterwards. 🙂
So happy to hear you’re getting a massage! you have to let us know how it goes. Massages are my all time favorite way to treat myself! Good for the body and soul…enjoy!!!
Didn’t see no camera case and lottery tickets. Pop won $3. Now he can retire! We don’t like war but we’ll be remembering some troops tomorrow like Grandpa and Uncle Kenny. The only massage TW ever got threw her whole system out of whack and that was when she was at her fighting weight of 96 lbs about elebanty hunnert years and 50 lbs ago. heh heh.
Harley! Best Picture EVER!! Also, nah, I didn’t REALLY get to play with those fire sticks. The party pooper Human took ’em away from me as soon as I posed for my picture. Spoilsport.
That cat massage pic would win first place in a photo contest! Maybe the cats ate your ticket.
“If only I could get my cats to give me back massages.” – LOL! 😀 You’re right! I laughed so hard when I saw the cat photo having a massage. It’s so cute!
my stars harley; you ARE looking FABulous !!!!!!! I hope you enjoyed the weekend, I so hope you were waited on paw & paw ~~~~~~~~ and please tell your brother jazz he is looking EVER so handsome …..
hugs to you from dai$y =^..*= queen of cats; royalty of trout towne
I hope your back pain has went away and you got a leopard print car (probably didn’t but it would be pawsitively pawsome if you did) . Hopefully you got in plenty of cat naps too!
Have a wonderful week.
Well, one out of three is not bad, Carma! I did enjoy the massage!
