Woof!! It’s Caturday!

Editors Note: It’s been a while since we’ve had a post from our favorite guest blogger –  Zee and Zoey’s son – Zeuss Catt from Boston. He decides to critique a toy that is very popular in the canine world…. regrettably, he does not give it a full “paws up” of approval. He does know he is a cat, right?

Woof

by Zeuss Catt

One of the humans brought home a very strange toy. It was presented to me while I was lounging upstairs in my room, and I must write that I’m not impressed. This particular toy is called a woof.

I’d always wanted to try out a “dog toy”, and you won’t find a more classic “dog toy” than the woof. It’s blue and has a comically weird shape. “How weird is this shape,” you ask?  Think “cartoon-bone” weird, and did I mention that it’s blue? When you squeeze it, the woof makes a loud, shrill squeak, although not usually for a prolonged amount of time. At least, not while I played with it. The human seemed to love making the woof squeak, and waving this odd object in my face.

After inspecting the woof, I was admittedly disappointed. Cats toys are always fun and engaging, with excitement bursting forth even when the the toy lies idle. The woof, on the other hand, just lay there looking like a silly blue bone. And it tasted like rubber. Nonetheless, I didn’t want to seem ungrateful, so I gave the woof a try.

Despite my best efforts I just couldn’t have any amount of fun with the woof. It simply couldn’t hold my interest… I like toys that challenge me, physically or mentally, or both, but the woof did neither. Rather, I worry that the woof made me a bit dumber while I was playing with it!

Can someone please tell me how dogs have fun with these things?

Zeus Catt 🙂 nice to meet you! I don’t want to be doggist but I think that the answer is dogs are a bit *whispers* stupid!!!! regards Austin daKool >^,,^<

Deb I laughed big time at the last video. Cats, of which Zeuas Catt is a prime example, have raised looking disdainful to an art form !!! x

Austin…. Zeuss is relieved you dared to whisper the truth. He doesn’t like to be mean, but he agrees with you!! And yes, Caro, Zeuss Catt has that look down pat – he gets that from his Mama Zoey who is the Queen of Disdain Extraordinaire!!!

  2. Nice to meet you Zeuss! Nothing wrong with feline good taste. Dogs like chewing and this toy is way too big for your refined mouth.

    • Deb says:

Zeuss is thrilled to meet you too Layla!! We try to get a story or two out of him every month – his insight is quite delightful!

  3. Hi Zeuss!

I can’t help but wonder where the doggie is that this REALLY belongs to?

I know that this can’t REALLY be yours! MOL!

Hmmmmmm, I’m not sure about those woof toys either…what if the woofie finds out you took it?!?!

    • Deb says:

Brian – Thank goodness Zeuss is the bravest cat I know…. it probably would be a good idea, however, if perhaps someone returned the woof to its rightful owner! Although, if I know Zeuss, he probably convinced his human to buy him that toy, despite that he is a cat!
