Sunday Selfie – Doing Nothing Like a Cat and Feeling Good About It
Jazmine is the perfect model to share what Sunday’s should be all about…
How beautiful it is to do nothing, and then to rest afterward. I found this quote to be especially perfect to share this Sunday, for it is one of those lessons from my cats I aspire toward because they are masters at doing nothing. Relaxing does not come easy to me and I find the older I get, the more forgiving I have to be with myself. It’s a hard truth, but the fact is, I can’t possibly achieve everything I want to in one day. At least I can’t if I want to keep my health, sanity, and peace-of-mind.
So, I’m getting better at it. Walking away from the computer. Walking away from household chores and endless “to-do” lists. Walking away from self-induced stress. I went in our pool last weekend for no reason other than to bask in the beauty of the day. I read more books. I worry less about keeping up with blogging and social media and concentrating more on spending time with Dan, the cats, and my family. I’m far from perfect, but I’m getting there. I hope you all find inspiration in your cats and find some time for yourself as well today. Be kind to one another and enjoy the day!

Hah! We KNEW it. We cats are just wonderful, clever , gorgeous, beautiful – just perfect! We hope that you guys get a lot of treats for teaching out our spiritual skills! You’re brave that you endure to make humans better, we gave up on it a long time ago. Then again… our human is so silly that it’s hopeless to do any efforts to improve her life!

A beautiful post. How I wish I was better at this! I lie tossing and turning in bed at night thinking about things I need to do five minutes ago. And doing nothing during the daytime? It would eat me alive! If I’m not accomplishing something, I don’t feel good. So, it is a work (or lack of work?) in progress… 😉
We can’t close ourselves in with things, then our creative selves can’t get out! And that’s not just for artwork and such, that’s having a creative approach to interactions with people, our daily work, and everyday life. Enjoy and see what your imagination comes up with when you set it free.

brilliant my friend! Exactly! Now, I mostly blog when I want to (except for a few obligations that make me HAVE to), if there is nothing pertaining to blogging that I HAVE to do, I don’t do it. Only when I WANT to. As for facebook and all of that, I cut that down months ago…………..I don’t visit groups etc like I used to……I just don’t understand those that respond to every alert throughout the day or keep their screens open to Facebook. It has helped me enormously to get away from all of it. (((hugs))) and enjoy!

Our mom needs to do the same, but when ever she slows down she feels guilty, and she figures at her age, she doesn’t have enough years left to do everything she wants.
