I love this photo of Zoey because it implies so much, while saying so little. Every afternoon the sun will start its slow ascent to setting and its rays will permeate through the dining room window, just beckoning a cat to come sit for a spell in that delicious sliver of sunlight. Zoey knows the precise moment this will happen and comes out from wherever she was previously napping to partake in this decadent treat and you can visually see her basking in the glorious warmth of the moment.
While she is sunning herself, she is certain that the sun sliver was created just for her, a wondrous secret for a cat of impeccable standing and grace. In actuality, anyone who happens by can see her, but because she is standing behind the cloak of heavy drapery panels, she is certain she is far hidden from the world and that this sunny treasure is exclusively hers.
Being that I love her so dearly, I gladly give her that impression and until the sun shifts away to find another cat to bestow its magic upon, the moment is hers and hers alone.
Happy Wordless Wednesday and may you all find that secret, magic sun sliver moment in your day as well!

There are only so many ways you can use the word “cat,” so just how does one go about picking a fresh, clever, and unique name for their cat blog amid the sea of competition?
It’s interesting, but when you boldly decide to write and self-publish your own book with no prior experience under the disillusioned assumption you will become an overnight sensation, that premise leaves a lot of room for reality, which is a vastly different scenario. I say this because now that I am a bona fide blogger with several years of blogging under my belt, I realize I didn’t really think things through in the naming of my blog department because I just assumed my renowned author celebrity status would be more than enough to drive traffic to my site. Brilliant plan, Deb… Read more

Step 1 – Put head down and assume comfortable nap position. Remain in comfortable nap position for five full hours.

Step 2 – Lift Head for approximately 7 seconds. If this appears to be too strenuous, lift head for only 3 seconds until enough tolerance is built up for the full 7 second routine that is the ultimate goal.

Step 3 – Drop head back down into full comfortable nap mode for another 3 hours or until called for dinner.
I don’t know about you, but I feel completely invigorated from that stimulating workout that Harley shared with all of us! That is my kind exercise routine and one that I can relate too! Happy Wednesday all – hope I didn’t wear you all out too much with today’s graphic images!

Shortly after we got Zee, we began a complete knock down, drag out renovation of our home. Zee was with us every step of the way and loved being part of the process!
Once upon a time, a long, long, long time ago in 2005, way before high quality photos and knowledge of the Internet and blogs, there was a kitten named Zee who was still so young that he had not yet grown into his full, fluffy mancoat. For the most part, he was a happy and content cat, sharing his days with his older feline family members, some boring humans, and a dog. Because he was an active and curious sort of fellow, eventually his older feline family members got tired of his bold and obnoxious kitten ways, the dog ignored him, and while the humans were well intentioned, they were no substitute for a cat’s company and he longed for a younger kitten playmate to share his pent up energy with.

“Hey Buddy”, says Peanut to Kizmet. “You looking for a fight around here?”
Somebody left a comment the other day on a post I did featuring a very serene picture of Zee, asking me if my darling family of eight cats fight with each other. To which I say, the better question to ask would be, “Do pigs fly?” Read more
