This was the photo Dan took of Mia in the Nature Pet bed from West Paw Design. She was gracious enough to be our cat model for the blog piece and the bed was to be moved elsewhere after the photo shoot.

Maybe you remember – a couple of weeks ago I did a piece on West Paw Design pet products in honor of Pet Appreciation Week. One of the items I received for my cats to review was a Nature Nap cat bed in a bright turquoise and white color in a zigzag pattern. Yes… once again summer is upon us which means lots of extra shedding from our kitties… if only there were a pet hair solution for them…

It’s official – summer is here and with the increase in temperature also comes the increase in the amount of hair our beloved kitties can shed. This, of course, means an increase in the amount of hair we have to vacuum off our floors and furniture and it also means more hair for kitty to possibly ingest, which could result in them getting a dangerous hairball. I’m always fascinated when something happens to us in life that seems to have a greater purpose, but we don’t always connect the dots or the meaning right away. You know what I mean…fate, synchronicity, destiny… whatever you want to call it. Sometimes it can happen in a split second and sometimes it might take years… which is what happened to me on Sunday when I was doing some writing on the book I am working on about Jazz. Since the book is being written from his point of view, it has caused me to go back into the deep recesses of the life I shared with him, bringing me to a startling past, present, and future moment. I know I’m preaching to the choir here, after all, this is a blog for cat lovers and I know I don’t have to tell you all just how incredibly wonderful cats are!! In our world, there are not enough adjectives available to describe how much we love our feline friends, to the point we make up words to convey just how pawtastically and purrfectly amazing they are!

But, June is *Adopt-a-Cat Month, so I would be remiss if I did not do my part to extol the virtues of these exquisite creatures to those who might not know as we do, that by having a cat (or two, three, or eight as in my case) in their lives, that they will be happier and healthier people. Read more
