While it was very nice to have a three-day weekend, the past several days have been emotionally tiring for me so I am quite happy to have a Wordless Wednesday upon us to share LOTS of great kitty pictures without having to worry about writing too may words! I was browsing through some of my pictures for inspiration and noticed a theme that fascinated me that I thought I would share – the symmetrical artistry that can sometimes happen as a result of having multi-cats hanging out together and the stunning mirror images they provide. These are some of my favorite archive examples and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! Happy Wednesday all and have a great day! Read more

Live life like a cat exploring the outdoors… For them, every sense is on high alert and nothing is left unnoticed…
Hello Everyone –
I wish I could be writing from a happier place, but my co-worker’s 35 year old daughter was killed suddenly a few days ago in a car accident and it has left me deeply saddened for her loss. The death of a loved one is never easy, but in the natural order of life, having a child pass before a parent is just so unbearable and I pray she has the strength to go on. And to make an already unimaginable situation worse, it turns out had she been wearing a seat belt while driving, it probably would have saved her life. Read more

I came across a post on Facebook the other day from The Paw Project, an organization based in California that is devoted to educating the public about the painful and crippling effects of declawing on cats and is working to create legislation to abolish the procedure in the United States. In this post they indicated that pet loving mogul, Martha Stewart, advocated declawing on her Sirius XM Martha Stewart Live radio segment that aired on May 5th, 2014. They politely asked people to help educate Martha by tweeting the following message to her: @MarthaStewart – Declawing cats is NOT humane – it is outlawed in 30+ countries for animal cruelty. This is what my counter looks like preparing for any holiday dinner – lots of prep work and a big mess! This was from last Christmas when my step-daughter Jackie and I were making homemade cookies!
I don’t know about your house, but in ours, feeding the cats dinner is like preparing a Thanksgiving feast that a mob of hungry guests is anticipating to be served. The prep time can take days and the cooking itself becomes an Olympic event. And then finally, after all that pomp, circumstance, and glory you sit down at 5:00 p.m. to eat that glorious meal. And at promptly 5:07 p.m. you are done eating… Read more

Here is Kizmet from just a few weeks ago. Despite that Kizmet is an old soul, he is actually still a young cat and he and Jazmine are only a year and a few months apart in age.
With each day that goes by, it seems that time is passing quicker and quicker. I say this because in the process of writing Mr. Jazz’s story for my newest book, I am forced to reminisce and go down memory lane with more frequency as I revisit how each cat in my life came to be. It was an odd revelation – especially with Kizmet. Even though we only got him a year and a half ago, time has deluded me into thinking he has been part of our family forever because each and every day has become one big, fleeting, blurry passage of time that has gone by in the blink of an eye.
I truly don’t know where the days are going but I guess having Jazmine around has caused me to reflect about Kizmet even more because they are such good friends. This caused me to take another trip down memory lane as I spent some time looking at pictures of him when we first got him… Shocking news, but he actually was a tiny little kitten at one time! See for yourself as I share some of my favorite pictures of him today for Wordless Wednesday and a bonus video that was taken of him a couple of nights after I brought him home from Pet Supermarket!
