For years this has been Mia’s sentiment when company dares to come visit…

Years ago when Dan and I would have house guests, the cats would react with typical feline horror and disdain. You know what I mean – once the thud of the suitcases hit the floor, several of the cats would take instant residence under the nearest bed. A few others would high-tail it up to the tallest spot in the house to glare at said house guests from a safe distance, and some would bravely walk among the strange new humans, with a cautious “you can look at me, just don’t touch” attitude. World Cat Day – A Day of Gratefulness for This Cat Guardian

WORLD

Thanks Peanut! You tell ’em!

Mark your calendars everyone – there’s a special new day planned!

Two of them – World Pet Memorial Day (June 9) and National Pet Memorial Day (the second Sunday in September) – are days to memorialize pets we have lost in our lives. On Monday, my dear friend, Caren Gittleman of Cat Chat with Caren and Cody did a review of Purr Prints of the Heart that really stopped me in my tracks. You always run the risk of asking a friend to do a review – will they be honest with what they write, or will they feel obligated to say something positive so as not to risk hurting feelings? For those of you that know Caren, she is a straight shooter and that happens to be one of the reasons I adore her so much. She tells it like it is and she doesn’t pull punches. When I read her review, she brought me to tears. I knew it was the real deal – it came from the heart and she really got the essence of the book. Read more
