A Heartfelt Thank You for Honoring Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day

thank-you-jazz

Mr. Jazz – my beautiful boy who inspired me to create Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day in honor of all those pets we have loved and lost in our lives.

Another Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day has passed and I want to give all of you a heartfelt thanks who participated, whether by sharing a blog post, leaving a comment, visiting other bloggers, joining the Facebook event page, or participating privately from afar. I know it’s a bittersweet day – for many, the memories of a lost pet are far too fresh to share, and for others, it’s a time to reflect on days gone by from many, many years ago, perhaps dredging up old wounds. Sunday Selfie – Finding the Joy in Simple Moments

Mia and Peanut sharing some cuddle time!

This picture of Mia and Peanut was taken back in 2009. While I certainly had my share of setbacks back then, I often find myself yearning for those days when life seemed simpler. Everything is just so hectic and stressful nowadays. But for a cat, they seize the moment and take the time to relax. Wise lesson that I hope to learn one day…

I hope this Sunday will give you pause to relax. At the very least, I hope these pictures gave you a smile and a bit of happiness in your day!

Unbranded and Loving it – A Grateful Cat Lady!

unbranded

No leopard. No cat ears. Just me in all my unbranded glory. Reflecting (and sweating) in the hot Florida sun about all I’m blessed for in my life.

Finally settled in after my hectic trip to Arizona a couple weeks ago for the BlogPaws/Cat Writers’ Association Conference, I received a phone call from fellow CWA member, Dusty Rainbolt. She had been a past president of the organization at one point, and I was now officially Vice-President, and she wanted to talk to me about my upcoming book project that she’s going to be a part of. Sounds impressive, huh? Read more

Happy Father’s Day to Cat Daddy’s Everywhere!

Peanut&Zee

Zee and his daughter, Peanut. Such a sweet and peaceful moment!

There’s not many households where sibling kitties are still living with their cat parents, but in my household, they are! Mia, Peanut, and Rolz are graced to have mama Zoey and papa Zee in their lives and it’s been an incredible journey watching them grow together as a family. They remain bonded and devoted to one another which makes it all the more fitting for this Father’s Day! Read more

The Many Ways to Hug a Cat for Hug Your Cat Day

Hugging a cat is good for your heart, health, and soul.

Me at my happiest – surrounded by my beautiful furbabies – Zee, Zoey, Kizmet, Jazmine, Peanut, Rolz, and Mia.

It’s National Hug Your Cat Day and I find myself in an interesting spot. I love, love, love my cats and would hug them 27/7/365 if I could. But I’m now in a situation where unlike previous day jobs I’ve had that allowed me some flexibility, I’m working full-time and don’t have anywhere near the free time I used to. It is what it is… I have to pay the bills, but as a consequence, everything has taken a back burner – my ability to write blog posts with frequency, my ability to comment on other blogs, and my time with my cats.
