Mia and Rolz show us how cat zen works!

We’re just a little over a week into the New Year and I’m already exhausted! Lots going on mentally and emotionally, so rather than let it overwhelm me, I’m going to step back and follow the example of my feline gang who are wise masters in the art of zen. This picture is just what I need to bring some peace into my day and I hope it does the same for you! It’s 2017 and as we venture into a new year it’s time once again to reflect on life. Rather than focus on resolutions, I like to focus on a particular mindset to guide me through the days. I’ve been doing it for several years now and having a clear focus helps me to balance my mental and physical health,  emotional clarity and well-being, and the direction I want to take my professional and personal life. Some of you may have already seen this, but for those of you that haven’t, I thought I’d share our holiday card from this year. This is Rolz and Jazmine.

Much as I would prefer to work from home, I have to admit the company I work for isn’t so bad. My co-workers are awesome (many of them are cat lovers), and management is always trying to come up with new ways to encourage group activities. We’ve had several company sponsored lunches since I started back in March, and they even shut work down early one Friday so everyone could go bowling together, including food and drink. But their most recent attempt is my favorite by far. Because most of us have desk jobs, for those that wanted to participate, they bought us Fitbits to encourage exercise and set up quarterly step challenges with prizes to boot! Read more

My Zee is the epitome of a Maine Coon cat – he’s loving, loyal, and intelligent.

I love Zee. He’s such a sweet, gentle, and kind cat and he demonstrates his love back to me each and every day. He talks to me with his extensive meow vocabulary, he follows me around like a loyal puppy dog, and he patiently waits for me to get up off the couch at night to go to bed so he can cuddle next to me before he eventually settles in to sleep next to my head for the rest of the night. He also brings me gifts at various times of the day, such as stuffed toys dropped at my feet to show his love. But what he did this past Tuesday was so touching, thoughtful, and heartfelt it brought me to tears. Read more
