I shared with you on Wednesday some of the ways I like to disconnect from the world to give my mind a mental recharge – stepping away from technology, reading a book, and listening to soothing music were some of the things I mentioned. In light of all that has been going on lately, I could easily be hired for an acting role on the Walking Dead without the need to audition… Even with makeup on I look like a Zombie and despite that I know I am supposed to be taking care of myself, that falls into the category of “easier said than done.” My emotional state is beyond fragile, so when I found out Zee and Zoey’s blog had been nominated for two Pettie Awards, you can only imagine that I broke down in a flood of humble gratitude for all of you that have supported us along the way…

We have been nominated for Best Designed Blog which we always appreciate – we want our stunning kitty photographs, charming graphics, and compelling writing to entertain you each and every time you visit our blog and we are happy to know that we have achieved that goal since you supported us in that category!

Rolz says think what you want, but he knows he’s the creative genius at Zee and Zoey’s!

But even more touching is the nomination for Best Blog Post for the post we did to honor the passing of our beloved Mr. Jazz who went to the Rainbow Bridge on August 28th, 2013, entitled “A Tribute to Mr. Jazz – The Dignity of Life and Death and Finding the Beauty in Letting Go.”

The outpouring of love and support you all shared with us during that difficult time will never be forgotten and it is especially poignant as we struggle to come to terms with the unexpected loss of Harley a couple of weeks ago.  As with Jazz, the support and friendship you have given us to help ease the pain as we mourn Harley’s passing has been overwhelming and it makes this Pettie nomination all the more special to us because win or lose, we know what true friendship is and we are forever grateful to have all of you in our lives.

Sure, the human thinks she is responsible for the stellar writing at Zee and Zoey’s but Peanut and Mia spill the beans and show everyone who’s really running the show… (Side note – this picture is from 2012 and if you look closely, that is a picture of Harley on the computer screen)

I’m always fascinated when something happens to us in life that seems to have a greater purpose, but we don’t always connect the dots or the meaning right away. You know what I mean…fate, synchronicity, destiny… whatever you want to call it. Sometimes it can happen in a split second and sometimes it might take years… which is what happened to me on Sunday when I was doing some writing on the book I am working on about Jazz. Since the book is being written from his point of view, it has caused me to go back into the deep recesses of the life I shared with him, bringing me to a startling past, present, and future moment.
