Well, Jackie has been here for over a week and we thought our plans of having her give us extra loving, snuggles, treats, and playtime was under control. I mean really, what more could she possibly want than to spoil us kitties 24/7? As you know, Jackie is here visiting us for a whole month this summer and one of our favorite activities that we like to do together is make cookies… Turns out that is one of Jazmine’s favorite activities too and we thought perhaps a “Cooking With Cats” show might be something we need to pitch to the networks. Lights, camera, action…

Before the cameras roll, prep work begins on the set as the actors get ready for the “mixing the cookie dough with a wooden spoon” scene.

And action… Don’t you just love it how Jazmine instinctively knows to pose and smile for the camera!!? Hey… wait a minute… how did Zee get in this shot? He wasn’t part of the script… Actors…

Rolz and Mia celebrate the new day with a toasty warm sun puddle to nap in!

For us Zee and Zoey kitties living in South Florida, our typical summer day begins with us eating breakfast and then we retire to the closest sun puddle for a much-needed and glorious all day nap. At some point that nap will be interrupted like clockwork with a thunderstorm that will cause all of our wonderful sunbeams to go away. The storms come at least once a day and typically they will occur at some point between 1:00 pm through 5:00 pm, all depending on what time the human mom is scheduled to leave work for the day and has to drive home in the torrential downpour or if we are planning to grill outside. This was a photo of Jazmine (L) taken at the Global Pet Expo and we immediately thought she was a Maine Coon like our handsome boy, Zee (R).

When Dan and I adopted Jazmine she was a former feral kitten and her paperwork coined her as a “DLH,” meaning that whoever rescued her determined her to be a domestic long-haired cat of mixed ancestry. Since her parentage is unknown, that is a fair assessment, but based on our own Maine Coon, Zee, we thought she was also a Maine Coon. That is until Dan posted a picture of her last week on Facebook and someone asked us if she was a Siberian. Read more

I think by now it’s been made more than abundantly clear that the cats in my house are spoiled… well, not necessarily spoiled… I would say well-loved. But guess what… in our house even the cat toys are spoiled! Just take a look to see what I mean!

Yup… courtesy of our sweet Jazmine, she has made sure that her beloved fuzzy ball has a nice and cozy spot to nap on! Doesn’t every cat toy deserve its own cat bed to nap in?
