Happy Birthday to Me…
I’m a lot older today than I was when my last blog was published. As you may already know, my sisters, brother and I all turned 2 years old on February 12. Here is a picture of some of my birthday gifts:
They’re called super-balls, but I’m not sure why. What these animals do is bounce around on the floor for awhile, followed by a slow, meandering roll… While I truly appreciate and love my gift (and my human gift-givers), I’m not sure how I feel about the super-balls themselves. They are fun to play with for the most part, and I admit that I enjoy chasing them around the kitchen and pawing at them to make them move faster.
But the way super-balls move is so infuriating- first bouncing around crazily off walls and floor, counters and table, even the stove; I’ve also seen these balls touch the ceiling a few times, which is higher than I can touch (unless I’m standing on the sideways couch). After a few seconds of that high energy bouncing, the super-balls must get very tired… At this point they’ll begin a slow, steady roll that seems to be without purpose. I’ve seen a super-ball roll behind the refrigerator and then just stop and wait. That was two days ago, and that same super-ball is still in the same spot, waiting… for what? To pop out and surprise someone, maybe? I won’t be surprised if that happens, I know that. Nice plan, super-ball. Now come back out from behind there and play.
I received many “Happy Birthday” cards and wishes (many through Facebook- thank you to everyone who took the time to do that), but my favorite card came from Florida and had a drawing of a squirrel of the front cover.
Thank you for sending such a nice smelling card Mia (did you pick out the card, Mia?), Peanut, Deb, Dan, mom, and dad. Oh, and Rolz. I love you all! (Yes, even Rolz.)
I seem to love things that smell like my home state of Florida. The humans that I live with got a large box in the mail, and I could tell right away where it had come from.
The box had a bunch of fruit in it, which the humans clearly like. (Me, I’m not much of a fruit cat.) When they were done with the box, the humans gave it to me. I have a lot of boxes that I like to play with, but this box has been turned into a hangout. I still sleep on the sideways couch in my kitchen, but I like to take some naps in the Florida box. It smells very nice.
One last thing- Happy Valentine’s Day and Lincoln’s Birthday to everyone! (I looked at a calender.)
