Zee & Zoey’s Giving Thanks Calendar Contest for a Cause Sponsored by PetCareRx and Giveaway!
We have so much to be thankful for at Zee & Zoey’s that we cannot possibly put it all into words and so much of it is in part to having such great friends that we have made as result of this blog. We want to wish all of you a blessed Thanksgiving and hope that you will take the day to celebrate in the spirit it was intended.
To show our thanks, we have a really great contest and giveaway that we want to share to celebrate not only Thanksgiving, but the upcoming Holiday Season and the soon to be New Year! One of our favorite features here is our “Feline Quotable Photo Series” where we take a famous quote about cats and pair it up with a photo of one of our own beautiful kitties. Because Dan takes such stunning images of them, I have gotten several comments that you would like to see some of these photo quotes on calendars, cards, and thing of that nature…. So, we took the plunge and opened a small boutique on Zazzle and have a few items available!!
Here’s where it gets fun!! In the spirit of giving, we’ve teamed up with the generous folks over at PetCareRx.com so that we could make as many animals and people as happy as possible and came up with “Zee & Zoey’s Calendar for a Cause Contest!” How does it work? Just go over to our Zazzle Boutique and take a look at Zee & Zoey’s 2013 Wall Calendar that is on the top row of our home page and click on it – a nice window will open up so that you can look at each month in detail. Then, all you need to do is pick out your favorite month and come back to the blog and CLICK HERE TO VOTE for it! Granted, that is easier said than done, because each month is so beautiful, but we can’t help that! We also hope you will take a moment to browse around our shop – we have some great items that we think you will love (my favorite is the Mouse Pad featuring Zee).
So, why vote? Well, because first of all, voting is just plain fun and something us humans like to do. But, more importantly, for whichever month wins, PetCareRx.com will donate $250.00 to a rescue organization that will be determined by one lucky reader and then it will be presented to them on that month on your behalf (we all know that no matter what the month is, a financial donation is greatly appreciated). All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling us what shelter or rescue organization you want to nominate(501c3 U.S. shelters only) and you will be entered to win the random drawing !! If you don’t want to nominate a shelter, you can still leave a comment for a chance to win a Zee & Zoey 2013 Wall Calendar that we will be giving away to one reader as well – just make sure to include your email in the comment submit form so that I can contact you if you win!
Because we strongly believe in helping animals in any way we can, we decided to team up with PetCareRx.com for this contest. We could really use the money to go towards our kitties, especially Sophie who had her leg amputated and then her brother Figaro appears sick so that’s another vet visit. Vet bills and costs of medications add up quickly.

The Forever Home Feline Ranch certainly could use the $250.00 prize to finish the building we have been working on to complete and move cats into for nearly a year. It now has heat and air conditioning and is being completed for four rooms for cats to reside in at our Ranch property. We are a 501c3 and most of the cats have been overcrowding several homes for some time. We have a number of fund raising events each year and have frequent adoptions at Ace Hardware, PetSmart and occasionally other businesses allow us to have adoptions in a local store in Springfield, IL, while our facility is on a small farm in nearby Rochester, IL. We are a non-profit and depend on help from Board Members and Volunteers, no paid staff. We take adoptable and older cats into the Forever Home Feline Ranch, cats and kittens that may come from various situations, including overcrowded shelters that do euthanize cats, etc. The Ranch truly is a place of retirement for some cats. We have adopted over 400 cats or kittens in the last few years since being licensed in 2009, and do not agree with euthanasia as cat control. I love the July photo and the message. The message captures a true cat lovers heart and the photo shows the love of our cats. I would like to nominate http://www.sumtertnr.org Dave & Colette Kibbe for there unselfish and countless hours of care they have given towards making the Sumter SC area a safer place for cars. Not only do they rescue, they also educate the community on health reasons to spay and neuter.

I would love to nominate Sumter TNR Kitten and Rescue <3 they do so much to help with the feral population in this community and the kittens and cats they adopt out are wonderful and well taken care of. On average, they spend $200 per cat to ensure their cats are healthy and happy and they only ask for a donation in return. The founders of Sumter TNR are amazing and their fosters really do care 🙂
