Zee & Zoey’s Chronicle Connection Blog Nominated for Two DogTime’s Pettie Awards

It’s been a whirlwind of awards lately and I’ll admit Zoey has been less gracious than I with her crushing Nose-to-Nose defeat at BlogPaws. I explained to her that all the winners are friends of ours and completely deserving. Plus, Halo food went to feed hungry kitties in shelters, so it is a win for cats no matter how you look at it. Zoey cared not one bit for my pep talk and when she found out Zee & Zoey’s Chronicle Connection had been nominated in two categories for a DogTime Pettie Award, she took matters into her own paws and quickly began to make some changes…
Even with that marked improvement, we will still need some love, help, and support so that we can have an opportunity to win $1000 for Abandoned Pet Rescue, a local shelter here in Fort Lauderdale that really could use that donation money to help all the homeless cats and dogs of Broward County, as well as a beautiful award from the DogTime folks! The voting is simple – all you have to do is click this link and vote either through facebook or your email for your favorite blog in each of the (10) CATegories. The competition is stiff and there are so many bloggers worthy of an award (yes, even the dog blogs) and the voting process will run through Tuesday, July 31st, midnight PST. You can vote once a day in each of the CATegories and we really hope that Zoey will finally have the opportunity to meow her acceptance speech that she prepared for last years Pettie that she did not win!!
We have been nominated for “Best Designed Blog” with the qualification being “a blog that is well designed and is complemented by photography or other artwork that makes visiting this blog a pleasure to the eyes” and “Best Blog Post” with the defination being “a blog post that has had a powerful affect on its readers.”
Since it’s inception at the end of 2010, we have taken great pride in the visual aspect and design of our blog and we truly think we qualify based on DogTime’s criteria. The quality of photography is stunning (thanks to my beloved and talented fiance, Dan) and we really try to use it in a manner that helps tell a compelling and interesting story. We have recently improved our functionality to enhance the beauty of the blog layout by using a soothing beige tone to compliment the blog text. We have received rave reviews on the results and thank everyone for their comments and support!
As far as the “Best Blog Post,” we were nominated for the interview we did with multi-award winning pet expert, Steve Dale, on the subject of cat breeding called “The Controversy of Pedigree Cat Breeding – My Exclusive Interview With Steve Dale on This Provocative Subject.” The post delved into an area that can often cause heated debate in the world of cat overpopulation on the streets and in shelters and offered a fair-minded conversation as to what really causes cat overpopulation and suggestions as to how to solve the epidemic. We have tried very hard this year to expand our topics of interest regarding cats and this was an extremely informative post that developed into an entire series.
Thank you again for all of you that give me a reason to try to be a better blogger and cat advocate each and every day. I could not do it without your support and encouragement and Zoey thanks you as well! Zee, well, I’ll be sure to wake him when this is all over and done with! Best wishes to all the great nominees and good luck to all!
