The Amazing Weekend

Hi Everybody!!! It’s me, Peanut! I hope you all had a great weekend, cuz boy I sure did! It was so amazing that I just had to share it with you! I really like weekends no matter what happens – both my humans are home together and sometimes they have coffee in the morning and take Papa Zee, Mama Zoey, my sister Mia, my brother Rolz, and Jazz and Harley out in the fenced back yard for some exploring time.

Well… sadly… that did not happen. But, what did happen was so awesome that I can barely contain myself! Bam, literally out an ordinary nowhere, human Mom came into the dining room with all kinds of bags filled with stuff I didn’t recognize. She then came back in with all kinds of other stuff – she called it wrapping paper, tape, and ribbon. All

Rolz - Cat's in the Bag!

I can say is WOW!!! Mia, Rolz and I climbed into the bags to investigate and help wrap the gifts – it was tons and tons of fun stuff for a human baby shower! I don’t know what a baby shower is. I don’t even know what a baby is. But if it means bags filled with toys, clothes, and assorted whatnot, then I’m on board! Mia really loved it the most, because the shower was for twin girls – the whole table was covered with pink stuff – pink pajamas,  pink onesies,  pink socks, pink dresses, and pink bibs…. Pink is Mia’s favorite color! Despite what human Mom will tell you, we all were a very big help with the wrapping. We very diligently climbed inside bags and sat on all the baby stuff, chewed on ribbon, and tore up tissue paper with our claws.

If that was not enough excitement, human Mom went outside with the gardening clippers the next day. Instead of walking through the garage with her clippings like she usually does, she surprised us and came into the house first!!! She had a whole handful of papayrus grass for us to nibble on and it was crazy amazing to have part of the yard right inside the house! (until she took it from us… that was kinda sad…)

Wait, there’s even more!! We had two cat sightings in our yard this weekend – a big white and orange cat that makes the neighbor’s dog bark (I don’t like that) and a cat that looks just like my Daddy Zee! We all ran from window to window to look at our kitty visitors and it was quite an exciting few minutes for all of us!

But, the best part… on Sunday, human Mom changed her bed sheets and we all got to help her put clean sheets on the bed! That is so much fun for Mom when we hide under the sheets and covers so that it takes her a REALLY LOONNNNNNNNNGGGGG time to make the bed! She sighs and yells at us, but deep down we know she likes our help, because otherwise, she would just shut the door and keep us out of the room!

Whew… it was a whirlwind of a weekend for sure. How was yours?

Love,

Peanut

  1. Wow you really had an amazing weekend Peanut!! You were sooo busy helping that I bet you have been sleeping all day today!

I have never seen papyrus! Isn’t that what they used to make paper out of? I bet you were sooo excited!
Tell your Mom she looks sooo pretty even without makeup!! 🙂

How did you know I was napping all day!?? You are so smart. I’m not smart enough to answer your question – all I know is that you are right! I was soooooo excited!! If paper is made out of papayrus, then that’s even more awesome! I love to lick paper (and plastic bags). Human Mommy says she loves you, but she said you need new glasses! XO

  2. Hi Deb,
I came across your blog through Caren Gittleman’s blog and was so pleasantly surprised to learn you live in South Florida! Congratulations on your book!! And your cats are just gorgeous! I must read it. I just finished “Dewey” and am now reading “Homer’s Odyssey about the blind black cat. Special needs children and animals are simply amazing and teach us valuable lessons especially how to enjoy the simpler things in life. They certainly do!

My blog is more about raising awareness. We are sadly facing an epidemic of homeless cats in South Florida. So I’m doing my part to educate the masses the critical need to spay/neuter outdoor cats to prevent animal cruelty and to stop homeless cat population. Right now we are facing some battles with the developer. We have hope.

    Continued success with your book!

Hi Christine – we are big fans of Caren and Cody, so it is a pleasure to have one of her readers become part of Zee & Zoey’s Chronicle Connection. Thank you for the congratulations – I am hoping to have the book published this fall and I think you will really enjoy it – it is filled with a lot of gorgeous photographs and charming artwork, but it also speaks very loud and clear to what you are saying – that animals are amazing and they teach us to appreciate life.

Unfortunately, I am a virtual unknown, so I don’t have the power or voice of someone like Dewey, but it is my intention to use this book to raise awareness about the very issues you are facing. We will definately have to hook up – Zee, Zoey, and I want to do everything we can to help these beautiful creatures.

I will be in touch with you for sure!!

      Warm Regards – Deb
