Please Judge a Book by its Cover

Ta Da! The book cover unveiled for The Chronicles of  Zee & Zoey!

I know we’ve all been brought up with the mindset that we shouldn’t “judge a book by its cover,” and I usually agree with that sentiment. However, when it comes to the book cover design that we have finally chosen for Zee & Zoey’s book, “The Chronicles of Zee & Zoey – a Journey of the Extraordinarily Ordinary,” I must say I wholeheartedly encourage you to judge this book by its cover!

Not only is the cover a delightful and brilliant work of art, enchantingly  filled with all sorts of magical and mystical images that invite you into a world of fun and intrigue, but the content of the  book itself – the words that I so painstakingly wrote to turn it into a story, are also worthy of merit on their own. Penning my first words way back sometime in 2009, the Chronicles has been a very long journey for me as a first time writer – sometimes the process has been invigorating and wonderful and sometimes frustrating, exhausting and painful. Although the story is meant to be primarily about Zee and Zoey and their shared life together, it actually starts out from days gone by of a long since past of mine. Subsequently, I had a lot of memories that I had to relive – some of them I recalled with great fondness and some with deep sadness, so you can imagine the emotional roller coaster ride that this was for me as my past was brought back to life as words on a piece of paper. Many revisions and edits later, I have finally come close to what I feel is a finished project, worthy of coffee table and book shelf material. I have lovingly crafted 26 chapters of memories woven into a story that not only recounts the trials and tribulations of the reigning stars, Zee and Zoey, but of myself, my family, and my other feline and furry friends with a lot of humor, heart, and honesty, as well as numerous gorgeous photographs and artwork to help illustrate the essence of the story. I think readers will find the book very easy and enjoyable to read and will quickly immerse themselves into the everyday situations that they can recognize from their own lives.

I am very excited to share a part of this story with you now so that you get an idea of where I am going with it and my style of writing. I decided that Chapter 8, when Zee met Zoey for the very first time and became completely smitten with her unique and strong personality, was the perfect way to introduce you to the book. Aptly titled, “The Wildly Inspired Zoey – Welcome to the Jungle,” you will get a taste of how our Miss Zoey has taught all of us to live by my favorite phrase, “to embrace the ordinary in our lives and dare to make it extraordinary,” and I think you will quickly understand why Zee fell so head over heels in love with her. All you have to do is click on the link below to read this sample chapter or click on the link provided at the left side bar under the book called “Click here to read a sample chapter” and you will be good to go! There is a magnifying option so that you can read the pages in full screen view – you just need to click back to the small view again to turn the page and zoom to full view again.

I really hope you all enjoy this chapter and that it will leave you looking forward to reading the whole book. I genuinely feel you will not be disappointed – the artwork and pictures alone are amazing – having a great story to go along with it is all the better. Please enjoy and I hope you return the favor by passing this link on to all your friends and family so that they too, can enjoy a bit of the Zee/Zoey experience!
