My Strange Week, Day 2
Okay, I’ll admit it. I had a serious problem years ago and was addicted to purchasing “must have” items such as sparkly fake diamonds and sandwich cooking grills from sites like QVC and HSN. Blah, blah, whatever. Some boring physological nonsense about needing to fill a void in my life. Anyhow, I’m much better now, thank you very much, and very rarely order anything anymore. An occasional piece of leopard clothing, but I think anyone would forgive that.
So, when I came from work today and saw all these boxes in my office, even with my lack of sleep and over-stressed brain, I have enough clarity to know I did not order anything…
I asked Dan if he had gone on a shopping spree and he looked at me like I was from Mars. Unless it is photography equipment, he doesn’t do any shopping and he would not put unopened boxes of his stuff in my office. Well, all that’s left in the house is the cats…
Upon interrogation, they claim total innocence (some lame excuse about having already maxed out their credit card) yet all the boxes were addressed to THEM. I don’t want to call them liars, but something sure does seem fishy… Not to mention, those sunglasses look vaguely familiar…
Well, no matter. None of the boxes are opened, so I’ll just return everything to whoever sent them. No harm done, right? I have all the free time in the world to stand in line at the post office to take care of this.
Sigh… it’s going to be a long week…
Return it? Are you kidding me? *sigh*
Now, now Rumpy, what other choice do I have?
You know darn well you aren’t going to return those boxes!!! lol.
And…I am laughing about yet ANOTHER thing we have in common….years ago I used to be the QVC and HSN QUEEN!
I ordered more Suzanne Somers crap on HSN (how many pairs of satin pj’s does one REALLY need? I used to order them in every color due to the classic Libran trait of indecisiveness I could never decide on just ONE color so why not order them ALL???
I used to ALWAYS fall for…”only 10 left ACT NOW!” ” THIS OFFER WON’T LAST! ACT NOW!!”

Caren – LOL, why am I not surprised that you and I would have this in common!! I used to love the Suzanne Somers line and was a sucker for some of her rings!! I remember when she and one of the hosts, Colleen, used to do the shows in the satin pj’s!!
For me, I was home alone a lot and I enjoyed the comfort of people chatting in the background… of course that friendly chatter was nothing more than a way to lure people into buying stuff they didn’t need, sure worked like a charm on me!!
Deb I used to LOVE those PJ parties that Suzanne and Colleen had! I watched them ALL the time. I also was alone much of that time too, actually it was mostly Bobo and I. Occasionally a dear girlfriend of mine would come over and we would order pizza and order items from HSN like FREAKS (took me years to get out of debt from them lol)…….
I got to speak to Suzanne once and was ecstatic!!
Ohhhhh I have some of her earrings, bracelets and necklaces, the PJ’s are long gone.
The fun and chatter “worked like a charm” on me as well. Did you know that Suzanne is also a Libra? Her birthday is October 16 🙂

For me, I was not alone physically, just emotionally… anyhow, my big thing was QVC – I got on the air once when Jeff Hewson and Kathy Levine hosted and got to spin a prize wheel.. I also won a Bette Ball collector doll!! LOL – it all was a lifetime ago, but I did enjoy the company they provided! I remember one time, early on, when the quality of the items was sometimes questionable, Jeff had to sell a ring that was absolutely hideous – he couldn’t even keep a straight face trying to tell all us viewers why it was so beautiful and a “must have” in our collection!!
Well I told you yesterday that I have GG’s credit card information memorized. Right down to that little code on the back. I also recognize the sound of the UPS guy pulling up to the townhouse.

I like boxes. Not so much what’s in them but boxes are good….
We agree, Chey. Boxes rule. Why the bother to put stuff in them is beyond us cats…
Boxes? Someone say boxes? You can’t send them back. It would be cruelty to cats. They have their feline rights, shades and all!! lolol

@Deb i was a QVC freak too and was probably watching when you had your spin!!!! lol!! I loved them! Trying to remember the name of a super popular host (with real short hair) who often did silver….I think it was Joanie or something? I used to watch when she was pregnant or had just had her little one (who is probably a grown woman now! lol) Yep…it was a LIFETIME ago!!! 🙂

You must open the boxes! The suspense is killing me! How do you know it’s not vendors wanting you to sample their products? Curiosity killed the cat but not the cat owner.
I ordered once from HSN. A real gem ring, not so sparkly when it arrived. Never again.
Christine – good point!!! I always love trying out new products… We’ll just have to wait and see what happens next with these crafty kitties. I have a strong hunch this mystery is NOT over!!
