Introducing… Myself
I know what everybody is thinking as they read this: isn’t Zeuss a bit young to be posting on the internet? Will he be able to spell, and form words into sentences? Can he think and type in English? Can he type at all?
Yes, yes, oui, and yes.
My name is Zeuss, and I live in Boston MA. Zee and Zoey are my mom and dad. This is my parents website, and they have decided to allow me to post here every once in a while. I couldn’t be happier! I’m glad they are confident that I won’t embarrass them, or myself!
Just so readers are aware- this isn’t my first time posting on the internet. I’ve been maintaining my own Facebook page for the past year, and it’s a huge success! I also have my own Twitter account, which admittedly hasn’t been very active of late. And while I don’t know how to use a video camera, my human does, and he’s posted many famous youtube videos starring me, that have been watched and loved by millions! So I have some web experience, you might say. But none that would be considered blogging…
Which means that this collection of words that you’re reading is my first ever blog post! Quite momentous, don’t you think? After all, I’m only 18 months old, and not to mention I’m a cat. Cat’s don’t have thumbs, or hands at all, really. Hands facilitate typing, which is an important part of blogging…
Sorry, I got off track a bit. Sometimes my attention span can be a little short; other times I get excited and the words just flow.
What do I like to write about? Lots of important things. Birds, squirrels, the birds’ nest in the back yard, Blue Jays, spiders, dogs, other cats, lasers, the vacuum cleaner, humans sometimes…
I live in a house all by myself, with no other cats. My house has a yard, and the humans take me outside every day to run around, inspect the grounds, and look for small animals. The yard has a lot of trees, and the trees are full of squirrels. Sometimes they come down out of the trees, and I chase them. I’m pretty fast, but not as fast as a squirrel. Yet.
I caught a bird once. It was flying by really low, and I just jumped up and caught it. The bird was VERY surprised! One of the humans pulled me away from it, though, and he ended up flying away.
I have a couple of dog friends that live in the neighborhood. Sometimes when I’m outside, one will walk by on the sidewalk in front of my house with a human behind them. Dogs are pretty cool, although they seem to get a bit intimidated by me sometimes. There is a fence (ed: chain link) between the sidewalk and my yard, so I can’t get too close to them. I’m not sure why they bark sometimes.
I don’t have many cat friends. I think it’s because they’re afraid of me.
My favorite food is chicken, with a little water on the side. I also like beef, turkey and duck. Fish, not so much. But I’ll eat it. I do NOT like coffee, cranberry sauce, mustard, or tea.
I’m very friendly, curious, and outgoing; I get along with pretty much everyone that I meet. Unless they’re smaller than me. In which case I just chase them. I only have one enemy, and that’s The Crowe. He lives in the house with me, and we fight A LOT. The Crowe is very tough, and he puts up a good fight every time, but I always win. I’ll be sure to mention him again soon.
That’s all I am going to write about for now. I don’t want to get carried away, and go on and on in my first post.
The next time I post here I plan on telling everyone about my favorite place to hang out: my bedroom. The humans call my room the kitchen. I have the coolest bed, which isn’t really a bed at all. It’s actually a sideways couch.
Thanks mom and dad (and Deb, of course), for inviting me to post here. It’s going to be a lot of fun.
I’ll be back soon.

I’m back from my trip and I just want to say “Thank you” Zeuss – you did a “cat-tastic” job with your post! I would thank you on behalf of Zee and Zoey, but, once again, they have not even read the blog…. I’m beginning to think perhaps they don’t know how to read and just don’t want to admit it… Anyhow, thanks again!
Deb
Great job on your first blog post Zeuss! And thank you Sean for waking him from his nap to do so. Looking forward to your next post.
