FURminator #PetHairSolutions Summer Fun Giveaway!

CatsOnTheCounter

Yes… once again summer is upon us which means lots of extra shedding from our kitties… if only there were a pet hair solution for them…

It’s official – summer is here and with the increase in temperature also comes the increase in the amount of hair our beloved kitties can shed. This, of course, means an increase in the amount of hair we have to vacuum off our floors and furniture and it also means more hair for kitty to possibly ingest, which could result in them getting a dangerous hairball. Summer is supposed to be a time of fun and relaxation – not a time for grueling chores and nasty hairballs, but what are we supposed to do? Unless you have a hairless cat, hair happens…

FURminatorLogoWell, the good news is, there is a deShedding grooming tool made by the great folks at FURminator that is designed to reduce the amount of fur our cats shed by 90%! And if you happen to live in a household with dogs, they make a deShedding tool for our canine friends as well! All it takes is a quick grooming once a day with your pet and then it is back to enjoying the lazy days of summer!

The FURminator deShedding tool has a stainless steel edge that has been designed to reach deep beneath your cat’s top coat to gently remove all the hair that might otherwise end up in your cat’s belly, under your couch, on your floors, or on your clothes.

We have been using the FURminator for years in our multi-cat household and I can personally attest to the fact that not only does it do a super job of removing all the hair that could potentially be shed by them, but my cats LOVE to be groomed with the brush and actually wait in line for their turn! I love the bonding experience we share and it makes me happy to know that they look forward to being pampered by me.

Since my cats don’t go outside, I thought it would be fun to bring the summer inside with them! Seen here I am brushing Kizmet and Jazmine is telling me to hurry up because she wants a turn!

And if you have kids and pets, why not get them in on the act while they are home for the summer? What a great way to enhance the bond your child has with his or her pet and encourage important responsibilities within the family unit.

All I can say is give it a try… what do you have to lose other than 90% of the excess fur on your pet! And guess what… wonderful news… I have a giveaway opportunity for one lucky reader to win a FURminator deShedding tool of their choice! Just enter the rafflecopter to follow with a comment as to what pet you would use the FURminator on if you win. U.S. residents only and the giveaway will end on Monday, June 23rd, midnight EST, with the winner to be announced Wednesday, June 25th.

Thank you for participating and please remember to take extra care with your pets during the summer. Give them access to lots of fresh, cool water and make sure they are not sitting outside in the sweltering sun for any extended period of time – heat stroke is very common in animals and they rely on us to take their health needs into consideration. Be aware as well that animals have fur for a reason – while the FURminator can help with the grooming process, it is not a good idea to unnaturally shave a pet to keep them cooler and let them go outdoors – they can get sunburns too, so the best advice is to keep them indoors where the temperatures are cooler.

I’d use it on my cats and get the Small Long Hair Cat deShedding Tool

  3. Debbie says:

I have been involved in shelter cat rescue for the past 10 years, so even though I share my life with dogs too, I’d ask for a cat FURminator to use on the rescue kitties. After all, we need to have them looking spiffy when they go to their forever homes!

My dogs and cats. they need it bad

  5. Realia M says:

my dog would need the medium short hair brush! man this seems handy!

  6. Linda says:

I’d use the Furminator on my 2 cats and I’d like the larger one for short hair cats.

  7. Susan says:

I’d love to use the Furminator on Karma–my Maine Coon. He does tend to get matted on his hindquarters, as I just think there’s too much for him to groom himself. And though we brush him, sometimes he fights it. I’d love to have a bonding experience with him as I brush him. So if I don’t win one, I’m definitely getting one of these babies!! 🙂

  8. Donna Cooper says:

I need one for my tortie. She’s going to be a trucking cat when I finish my CDL training and it would help control cat hair in the truck.

  9. We really could use one of those awesome Furminators!

  10. Vivian Yun says:

I would love to try this out for my cavalier spaniel who sheds so much everyday that I can build a mountain out of it.
