Caturday Weekend with Cats Exclusive and the 2013 CFA Annual Cat Show

A couple of months ago I stopped by Cats Exclusive, an organization and adoption center local to me devoted to rescue, low cost spay/neuter and TNR efforts. I wanted to introduce myself to them as well as to drop off some of my books so that they could give them away as gifts when someone adopted a cat. It was through them that I found out about the 2013 CFA Annual Cat Show and they told me I should look into attending since it would be local to me and a good venue to sell my book and meet fellow cat lovers.

So, that’s where I will be this weekend. Me and hundreds of pedigreed cats who will be on display and in CFA championship competitions. There will also be a Household Pet Competition and a Kitty Halloween Costume Contest. People will probably assume due to my cat ears that I am in costume, but little do they know that is me pretty much on any given day of the week! Maybe I’ll be mistaken for a cat and win a prize in the Household Pet Competition! One can only hope!
I’m so looking forward to being a part of it all and the best part is that the proceeds from ticket sales and fundraising will go to Cats Exclusive and they will also have cats and kittens available for adoption both days. Anyhow, I just wanted you all to know what I was doing because it means I won’t be able to visit blogs this weekend but I still wanted to at least wish you all a Happy Caturday! And in a fun blast from the past I am sharing my very first video ever as an author, which ironically happened to be at the very first cat show I ever attended, which was at my first Cat Writers’ Association Conference where I was a member for the very first time!! It was way back in 2011 in White Plains, New York and you will also notice a cameo appearance by Ingrid King of the Conscious Cat – she and I were sharing a table at the event, at you guessed it, my very first official book signing appearance! I wish I could say that my video speaking skills have improved, but sadly they have not… but I can still rock the ears with the best of them!
Have a wonderful time at the cat show! Cat shows have always been my most successful book events. What’s not to love about spending the weekend with thousands of cat lovers!

It sounds like fun! The Woman went to a show a couple of years ago when she was helping out at Purrfect Pals. they go down and show some rescue cats and get cats adopted! She liked it!
