Are they here yet, Rolz? Are they here? No… I’m not talking about Santa and his reindeer – I’m talking about the kids!! Yup, tomorrow my youngest son, Joe, from Upstate New York and Dan’s youngest daughter, Jackie, from Boston, will be here to help us celebrate the holidays. And if that isn’t exciting enough, the following week Dan’s oldest daughter, Crystal (also from Boston) and her boyfriend, Dave will be coming by! We will also have Dan’s Mom coming by for a few days and then, of course, there is my Mom and my oldest son, Chris, who both live locally that will be in and out to share in the festivities! It is no secret in my cat-centric world that a lot of my friends and colleagues despise the term “crazy cat lady” and based on its loose definition, i.e., that a “crazy cat lady” is a woman, usually middle-aged or older, who lives alone with no husband or boyfriend and fills the empty, lonely void in her life with as many cats as she can, I can understand why. The definition has expanded into part of our mainstream language and has become a popular cliché to describe just about anyone who is a cat person in a derogatory manner. Read more

Oh… pardon me, still freshening up a bit after a wonderful weekend filled with yummy and delicious food… Anyhow, we don’t normally post on Monday’s, but we received so many beautiful comments from you on Thanksgiving that we wanted to start the week off by thanking you all back. It has been a tough year for us at Zee & Zoey’s, but despite that, we have so much to be grateful for and we cherish the bounty of blessings we have. We are especially thankful that we will have a lovely meal to share with family and friends on this special day and that we have all of you in our lives.

We appreciate your support so much and wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving. And as a special thank you to all of you for following us throughout the years and cheering us on along the way, please be sure to stop by tomorrow – we have an extra-special Black Friday event that has to been seen to be believed! In tribute to Lion King – he is my poster cat for National Feral Cat Day

I am so deeply entrenched in cat advocacy issues now that it is almost hard for me to believe that several years ago I didn’t even know what a feral cat was, let alone that there were millions of them living within our communities across the country and that compassionate people were ensuring their rights and well-being by caring for them and managing their populations through education and TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) efforts.
