Cat Product Holiday Review Series and Discount Promotion – KatKabin Products

Typically when we think of holiday gift giving, we envision toys, furniture and whatnot for our indoor kitties. But, not all cats are indoor pets and with much of the country already affected by heavy snowstorms and frigid temperatures, I thought it would be fitting to highlight the innovative products from KatKabin as the next feature company in our holiday  review series since they carry a full range of stylish, functional, and comfortable housing shelters for the needs of any type of cat.

We chose the SkratchKabin in a beautiful cocoa color and you can see Zoey checking it out before she attacks the toy mouse!

Because my cats are not outdoor cats, I was given the indoor SkratchKabin model to try out with them. The moment it arrived and I took  it out of the box (no assembly required!) the cats instinctively went to it and started scratching away at the body of the house which is covered with a durable carpet type of material. Me, I was smitten by just how adorable, functional and stylish it was. It is tubular in shape with a door opening and ears that are designed to look like a cat’s face and stands on cute little feet. Inside the house is a padded cushion and the exterior carpeting is a pleasing cocoa color that perfectly compliments the decor in our living room. While it is not overly large, it is still big enough that it prominently sticks out, so it was an added bonus that it looked like a custom designer piece of cat furniture! Kizmet, our newest family member LOVES to sharpen his little claws on the carpeting,  Harley enjoys it for napping during the day, and Zoey likes the toy mouse that hangs from the top of the house, so it seems there is something for everyone!

The KatKabin comes in both single and double door styles with removable door flaps.

Being active in the outdoor/feral cat community, I was actually more intrigued by the KatKabin houses that are available in either single or double door styles as a possible shelter against the elements for these cats that need a place to feel safe and protected. Constructed of a durable plastic, the KatKabin was designed to withstand the most extreme of temperatures by providing shade for animals in a hot climate and warmth for those dealing with snow, wind, and cold. Either model comes with removable clear KatFlap doors which allows for additional protection. For those caretakers of feral colonies, the double door model is especially important, as these cats need to have the ability to enter or exit quickly and not become trapped from predators or other dangers.

The KatKabin is on raised feet so that it is not sitting on the ground and has rear holes for ventilation and an innovative oval design that helps the air to circulate inside rather than being trapped. It also has several additional accessories available such as a washable fleecy winter warmer and a waterproof, low energy Eco Glow Warming Pad. Because I am not a caretaker for outdoor cats and each setting is unique, I would suggest you research the KatKabin accessories carefully and purchase them based on your own needs and budget.

The winter warming pad.

It would seem for those outdoor cats (whether they be feral cats that live on your premises but are not tame enough to want to come indoors, or pet cats of your own that that just refuse to come indoors) that you could probably keep a KatKabin on your patio or any area near an outdoor outlet and use the Eco Glow Warming Pad to keep your kitty warm during frigid temperatures. For those colonies that are not on your premises, or are too large in number for it to be cost effective, it would probably be more sensible to use the fleecy winter warmer if you can afford it.

Based on my own assumption, history with cats,  and the size of the house (L: 22” x W: 16” x H: 13”) it will comfortably house one cat, and possibly two if they are smaller cats. It would also be able to accommodate a mother cat with a litter of newborn kittens until they become more mobile after about 2 -3 weeks of age. All of the KatKabin and SkratchKabins come in a variety of great colors and are made from durable, high quality materials.

Rather than provide a giveaway to one winner, the KatKabin people were kind enough to offer a special discount to Zee/Zoey readers so that you can get whatever items you may want. Just go to the KatKabin site and at checkout, enter the promotional code REFSP24E and you will receive 20% off your purchase. This offer is valid to anyone will expire at midnight, PST, on November 26th. The prices range from $99.00 to $129.00 for the Kabins and the accessories range from $9.99 to $49.99, so now would be a great opportunity to save some money while protecting the kitties in your life, especially with the weather getting colder by the day.

I was not paid for this endorsement and suggest that you visit the KatKabin site to learn in greater detail about these items and how they would fit into your cat(s) life.

Hey, just checking out your review and read that Bella and I won the Turbo Toy give-away! Bella will be SO excited, though I am not sure she will be enthused to share it with her little sister Mardi! THANK YOU!!!!

  2. We would love to have one for our feral girl, but it isn’t in the budget right now. She is sleeping in a larger carrier with blankets inside in our garage at night…..

    • Deb says:

I understand, Random Felines. It really can be costly taking care of the feral kitties and we appreciate all that you do for them with the budget you have. I wish I could win the lottery so I could give everyone a KatKabin who needs one!

  3. Connie Marie says:

I love these and wish I could have one someday.
I did share and pin it though. Great offer.

    Hi Deb,

The SkratchKabin looks comfy and decorative. I like the neutral color and the scratch material on the outside.

The KatKabin looks cozy. I too like that it has two exits so cats can’t get trapped.

Nice that you can get a heated pad for colder nights.

I’m sure all cats would like it.

    Nice items.

I too have a feral cat who needs winter warmth and protection. I tried to use the promotional code but got a message that it is no longer active. I think the two door model would be great as it lets the cat have a way to escape danger. Thanks, for your review, much appreciated.
