Caturday Funnies – If Cats Were in the Tabloids!

by Deb at 6:50 AM • Cat Humor18 Comments

I often find after I do a serious series of posts (in this case, my foray into the world of pedigree cats) that my mind just needs a break and I venture from the sublime to the ridiculous. In this case, I got to thinking about how many of us cat lovers have a tendency to anthropomorphize our cats – that is, give them human characteristics even though they are animals. For me, guilty as charged. Maybe not quite as guilty as our friend, Debbie Glovatsky, over at the Glorgirly site who was recently  indicted for Photoshop misconduct and a serious addiction to the software program, but I have definitely put my cats in just about every human scenario or predicament you can imagine in the name of journalistic entertainment. My most recent light bulb of creativity to follow is this little gem – what would the tabloids be like if they were written for, and about cats? Take a look at this first installment of the newest tabloid to hit the fishstands, “The National Cat Enquirer.” And yes, I realize I need counseling…

I think you might be beyond counseling, Deb…lol… What a cute idea! Will Zee and Zoey be the new Brangelina?

  2. Brian says:

I love it!!! I hope you win some awards because you not only do lots of mighty fine work, your site is incredible!

  3. Love, love love! I need funny in my life right now – work’s insane! THANKS!!

  4. MOL @Ingrid’s comment!
I guess we’ll have to call them Zeeoey.
Well it may appear to the blogosphere that I’m on “vacation,” but really it’s a 12 step program. Sadly, I think I’m a goner. I will likely return home the same Photoshopaholic I was before I left (if not worse.) It’s snowing in Banff today which means a hotel/movie day. (that’s code for more Photoshop)
    hehe!

Deb, you do have a great blog here and I hope you do get some awards. We sure will vote for ya. That is pretty darn funny to have tabloids for the kitties. What fun that would be for real. Take care.

  6. That is really, really cute and if it was a real paper/mag, I’d be reading it.

I am not anthropomorphized. I really AM the head of the Catstra Nostra and I really did run for president even if I did not get on a ballot. Considering that after talking to the animal communicator I sound exactly this way, the Woman has decided she is not crazy at all and this is who I am.

    • Deb says:

Chey – from this point forward, let it be known that you are always exempt from any topic that does not infer that you are the true Catstra Nostra…. As always, we bow to your greatness and obvious superiority.

  8. I’d say we are all in the same cat crazy boat. This is so cute!

  9. RumpyDog! says:

*gasps* I sure hope they don’t interview June Buggie!

  10. Hey I think you’re onto something really! Thats the marketing hat I’m wearing now. Not crazy Cat lady garb.
Deb your website is not Only beautiful to the eye, but it is well balanced with both serious, thought provoking , educational postings but also funny and lighthearted ones. In addition, your writing is professional with a genuine voice. I’ll be nominating you for several Petties! You deserve to win!

    • Deb says:

Christine – thank you so much for your support and kind words. I really am trying to make the Zee/Zoey site as well rounded and enjoyable as possible for my readers that I can. I am fascinated by teaching about cat causes, but I also enjoy the lighter and humorus side of these delightful creatures as well!

I am shattered and absolutely gobsmacked that the interminable debate of bags v boxes has not been resolved!! This is beyond shocking!! OK Scoop, you have a commission. The scientific method must be applied and rigidly adhered to. Failure is not an option…. The kitty world is watching!!!

Carolyn – I regret that due to the economy, not only was funding cut for education and the space shuttle, but for this hot topic as well. Why oh why must the kitties suffer? I can only hope that one day the world will see how important an answer is to this elusive question and give it the proper respect it deserves…

MOL. I especially liked the one about the Persian who “just prefers not to come when called!”
