Exciting News! The BlogPaws Pet Blogging Nose-to-Nose Social Media Awards Open for Nominations!

Nominations are open for the 2016 BlogPaws Pet Blogging and Social Media Awards

Thanks for the update Peanut!! We sure hope everyone nominates their favorite blogs, blog posts, blog photos, and videos!

Once again – exciting news in the world of pet blogging! Nominations are open for the 2016 BlogPaws Pet Blogging Nose-to-Nose Social Media Awards. This is exciting for a variety of reasons, most of which is quality and striving for personal excellence for those of us that blog on a regular basis.

Let’s be honest – whether you’re a blogger, a blog reader, or both – it’s a lot more enjoyable to read a post that is well-written, researched, and thought out. Notwithstanding pet-speak, you know, that pet invented language where a blogger writes in the perceived voice of the pet, making spell-check go all wacky, nobody likes to read a poorly crafted post rife with spelling and editing errors.

Organizations like BlogPaws help set the bar for excellence throughout the year by giving those who communicate online a platform to be judged for their expertise, creativity, performance, and achievements in 12 award categories:

BEST Pet Blog Design.
BEST Written Pet Blog Post.
BEST Pet Humor Blog.
BEST Dog Blog.
BEST Cat Blog.
BEST Unconventional Pet Blog.
BEST New Pet Blog.
BEST Cause Blog.
BEST Pet Video on a Blog.
BEST Pet Photo on a Blog.
BEST Pet Microblog.
BEST Use of Social Media by a 501c3.

Me personally, as a 2016 ambassador, I’m not eligible to enter this year, but that’s okay. I’m honored enough to have been chosen to represent the BlogPaws organization on behalf of this year’s conference. But my goodness gracious, for those of you that qualify, please pat yourself on the back for your achievements and nominate yourself. You know better than anyone else what works of yours stand out and there’s no reason in the world not to enter.

Author and blogger, Deborah Barnes is nominated for Best Cat Blog in the 2015 BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Awards

This was the certificate I received last year from BlogPaws as a “Best Cat Blog” finalist for Zee & Zoey’s Cat Chronicles. I felt it was for my writing, Jazmine was certain it was for all the pictures I featured of her. I guess it was probably a combination…

Or if you’re a loyal supporter, please take the time to nominate some of your favorite blogs, blog posts, blog photos, or blog videos in whatever category best fits. These people work tirelessly to educate/inform/entertain and it’s nice to be able to let them know you really appreciate the quality work they put out. You can find out the details on what criteria the judges will be using for each category here. And keep in mind, judging is done by a panel of distinguished professionals not by popular vote.

FINALISTS will be announced on or about May 7, 2016 and each finalist will receive 1 (one) free conference pass to this year’s conference.

WINNERS will be announced at the BlogPaws 2016 conference in Phoenix, AZ during a live red carpet event on Saturday evening, June 25, and will receive a one of a kind personalized trophy as well as a package of other prizes TBD.

Being nominated for a BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Award in 2013 was an honor for blogger, Deborah Barnes, of Zee & Zoey's Cat Chronicles

Happy to be including among such talent at the 2013 BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Awards. I was a finalist for “Best Blog Writing” and it was so much fun being a part of the red-carpet event!

So wait are you waiting for? Start nominating and if you still haven’t registered for the 2016 conference, NOW’S THE TIME TO DO IT! You certainly don’t want to be left out of the fun and there are limited tickets available. Use code BP16-Amb-Deb10 to receive a 10% discount off of price if you haven’t gotten your ticket yet!

Good luck to all the nominees and in case you haven’t’ heard me say it, thank you to all of you that follow Zee & Zoey’s Cat Chronicles. I truly appreciate your support – you inspire and push me each and every day to be better at what I do.

  2. Thanks for letting us know about these awards. They sound very cool! Although we think it’s a little weird that you can nominate yourself, I mean, we might think our blog is great, but no one might agree with us!

    • Deb says:

MOL – I know what you mean, Dragonheart, Merlin, and Devi! But why not give it a try? It’s ultimately up to the judges, so if you think your blog is great, it surely is!!
