World Cat Day – A Day of Gratefulness for This Cat Guardian

Being the consummate cat lady, it almost seems inconceivable that I would not remember World Cat Day is August 8th. But alas, were it not for a kind email reminder from Ann Adamus of Zoolatry, I indeed would have forgotten.
Thankfully, as long as I provide my cats with food, shelter, clean litter, toys, water, veterinary check-ups (my request, not theirs), and lots and lots of love, hugs, and snuggles, which I do to infinity and back, they don’t care that I almost forgot. They already know they rule the world 365 days a year, 24/7. So rather than concentrate on today being World Cat Day, which is a redundant phrase, I prefer to use the day to reflect on the fact that my cats mean the world to me.
Without them, my life would not be complete and I am forever grateful for the endless joy they bring me. Each of my cats – those that are with me now and those that reside at the Rainbow Bridge – each and every one of them has brightened my world with their wonderfully unique personalities. Face it cats, you all had me at meow.
Something I say each and every time I see one of my cats! You had me at meow, kitty, you had me at meow!

As a side note, for those of you that may have missed Wednesday’s post, I want to let you know of an upcoming event I have planned for August 28th that I hope you will participate in. I am doing it on behalf of Purr Prints of the Heart in tribute to the loss of my Mr. Jazz and am calling it “Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day.” I am hoping it will become an annual event as a means for all of us to remember those precious pets in our lives that have gone on the Rainbow Bridge. I will be putting together a blog hop for that day and will also be creating a special event day on Facebook and Google+ for people to participate in. Carmine and Milita rule the house, and they know it. 🙂 They’ve trained me well. Jewel had me so well trained that when she’d come up behind me and raow, I’d drop everything I was doing and feed her.
Your kitties are lucky to have found such a loving mom. I’m sure they appreciate you every day.
