Permission to Opt-in for Email Notifications from Zee & Zoey’s Cat Chronicles!

Email notifications for a blog post can go into a spam box if you are not careful

Oh spam… how do I hate thee… let me count the ways…

Once again my love/hate relationship with technology continues. I marvel at the endless capabilities at our fingertips to make our lives easier, yet ironically all this convenience seems to cost more time in the long run. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel nearly every day I am wasting away precious minutes of my life as I try to fix whatever glitch, upgrade, conversion, or whatever else that crops up out of nowhere to make what was running smoothly one day, now an inexplicable living nightmare the next.

Point in case, I’ve been blogging since 2010 and since then I’ve had numerous readers who voluntarily subscribed to receive email notifications from me when I post a new blog piece. I’ve now been told by many of them, that these notifications are currently landing in their spam boxes. I’ve done nothing different, nor have they, yet the problem now exists.

Without properly setting up email notifications they can go into spam boxes

It’s been kind of lonely here at Zee & Zoey’s, but with readers not getting our email notifications, we understand!

Sigh. Anyhow, much as this pains me, and trust me, it does, I now have to inconvenience all of you that have so graciously signed up for notifications and ask you to do it again by clicking this subscription link to re-enter your email address to signify you have opted in for notifications.

I apologize profusely in advance – this is going to be a long and drawn out process – after all, isn’t that what technology’s all about? I’ll be switching from my current WordPress notification to MailChimp – a service which is supposed to be much more reliable and spam-proof to send out notifications and I’ll need to be contacting everyone on my subscription list for approval. In the interim, you will continue to get notifications they way you used to until I can get everything resolved.

To make it easier, you can just re-subscribe today right from here and I don’t need to torture your inbox with yet another annoying email! If you don’t, I might be sending you a friendly reminder!! In the long run, it’s all good. All of us at Zee & Zoey’s Cat Chronicles want to make sure you’ll still be getting the latest and greatest from us – whether it’s our trademark gorgeous kitty pictures, reflective posts, product reviews or more – we love having you around to share our day!

A cat apologizes for the inconvenience of having to subscribe for email notifications

Jazmine – you brighten anyone’s day. Who would not want to see a picture of your sweet face?

Thank you again – as always, we appreciate your support and look forward to many days ahead!

I re-subscribed as asked, but I have no problem getting your mail correctly. They have always gone into my *proper* e-mail inbox. . . ♥♥♥

  2. We feel your pain, we had the same problem here. And as you landed often in our spam folder, we follow you since a few months with Feedly 😉 Purrs

I wouldn’t opt out fo all the catnip in the world. We love this website and all the wonderful stories and great information that you share!

It would be grossly inconvenient to have to search for your work!!

    Hugs to you!!!

  4. Connie Marie says:

No problem, I found you in spam but it was very easy to use the button, NOT SPAM! I think it’s because I see alot of blogs my security catches as reported for stealing account info. I was flabbergasted by some, no longer receive them to my dismay, but my email has been hacked 3 times!!I will gladly help and click the link and enter my email to you!!

    • Deb says:

Thanks Connie – believe it or not, a lot of the people that have had the spam issues did use the NOT SPAM button and still had problems!! Yikes on the hacking!!!

  5. Sue Brandes says:

I re-subscribed. Glad to do it.

  6. Flynn says:

I don’t subscribe by email, but have you in my Feedly reader so no problems here.

  7. Well, the email with this post was in our spam folder. We re-subscribed as you requested, but we’re a little confused because it said it was for weekly updates.

    • Deb says:

Sigh… darn spam! Anyhow, sorry about the weekly update confusion. The heading has been changed to “Subscribe to updates.” Thanks for pointing that out, Island Cats!

  8. Christine Michaels says:

We have you in our Feedly reader list, so we always get notifications whenever you have a new post. 🙂

  15. We read you through Feedly. You wouldn’t believe our emailbox already. We don’t want notifications from our friends to get lost in that mess!

  16. We haven’t signed up for any email notifications for blogs because our inbox is already overwhelmed. We hope you get through everything,

  17. Peep #1 has a love-hate relationship with technology. She loves to hate it, for sure. MOUSES!
