Happy 2nd Birthday Kizmet and Happy Birthday America!
Today is a very special day in our household – not only is it the day we celebrate the independence of our country, but it is the day we say Happy 2nd Birthday to our sweetie-pie, Kizmet!! We honestly don’t know if July 4th truly is his birthday since he was found abandoned on the side of the road as a tiny kitten, but based on his extraordinary personality we would wager a strong bet it is accurate and so it only seems fitting!
As you know, as time has passed, Kizmet has grown to be a very special cat. He is an exceptionally kind and gentle soul – not only to Dan and I, but to the other feline members in our household. He was with me to soothe my frayed nerves after Mr. Jazz crossed to the Bridge, he has welcomed Jazmine into our household with a tender, protective kindness, and just recently, he has been by my side day and night as I try my best to reconcile the profound sadness I am feeling after unexpectedly losing Harley last week.
Her loss continues to reel in my mind and barely does a moment go by that I don’t think of her, but this post is not to dwell on that. I will come back to thank you all for your incredible kindness and support you have shown me as I grieve when I can and I will post about Harley when the time is right for me. Suffice it to say that you all mean more to me than you will ever know and each and every one of you have touched me in your own special way to help me during this difficult time. But, right now it is about Kizmet – he is such a good boy who I love so very much and he deserves a happy day!
So, in that spirit – please, all of you – a catnip toast to Kizmet for the happiest of birthdays and to many, many more! Enjoy the pictures and have a safe and wonderful 4th of July holiday!

Here is another great one of Kizmet when he was only 5 months old… he is on one of his favorite spots to hang out – our coffee table. He’s so cute and little that you’d think you could scoop him up in your hands and tuck him in your pocket!
And here’s a current picture of our bruiser on the coffee table… not so little anymore! Although I will admit that despite it looking like he is a big, fat cat, he really is not – his body weight just spreads like that when he stands!

This is one of Kizmet’s more goofy pictures taken in 2013 – he is hanging out with Zee, Rolz, myself, and Mia!
Here he is present day on our hallway table with Zee… you will note the fact that the 2 biggest cats in the house are trying to share the tiniest space!

Kizmet is a cat with numerous facial expressions – this is his quirky, “I’ve got cattitude” look.

Way to go Kizmet, you have reached “2”, Congratulations and Happy 2nd Birthday. I hope you had a great one – so you are the firecracker huh? Great Job! I hope you gave and received a playful day with your brothers and sisters and mom and dad. Great pictures, you are beautiful:-) Make sure when you go to bed you put on your earmuffs so you aren’t frightened by the fireworks. My cat Angel will be hiding under the bed very soon and my puppy Bella will be hiding behind me on the couch. Wish there was something we could do for our furry friends during fireworks. Kitty iPods playin’ some beats NOT playin’ some groovin’ cat tunes low, low, Jamm down……yea. Stay safe & I hope you were able to blow out your two candles because pretty soon, you’ll have so many & it gets tough, espech at my age……love you!
