If there is one thing I have learned since we launched Zee & Zoey’s Chronicle Connection last October, is that a lot of people LOVE cats and there are A LOT of blogs to talk about the love of them! While Zee and Zoey (primarily Zoey) don’t really like to share the limelight, I, on the other hand, do, and that’s why I have put together a new feature I refer to as “Deb’s Cat Stamp of Approval” where I recommend other great cat blogs and sites I have found along the way!

The first blog I’d like to introduce you to is called “Cat Chat” and features the sharp-witted writing skills of Cody the cat and his human Mom, Caren Gittleman. Cody is the self-proclaimed writer of the family and can be a bit harsh on his human as witnessed in one of my favorite posts, “The 2010 Annual Purr-fur-mance Review,” whereby he reviews Caren and Cat Chat on things such as words, pictures, and videos. Right off the bat, he quite openly berates Caren for her photography skills, likening her blog pictures to “Poop.” He’s not too crazy about her writing ability either, but does admit that she is a very kind person and that he loves her very much! Well Cody, all I can say, is that I think her blog is very well done – extremely informative, entertaining, and very current with the daily goings on in the cat world. But then again, I’m only a human, so I suppose my opinion does not matter that much!

Caren is also a product and book reviewer and is always offering up all kinds of great cat related advice – please be sure to stop by to see the latest and greatest gadget available for your cat as well as what should be put on your feline “to read” list.  Last but not least, Cat Chat  has a fantastic page on facebook, so be sure to stop by and give them a “like”!!

I would like to do a “shout out” as well to the blog,  Adventures of a Suburban Kitty, and Pumpkinpuddy who is the blog’s beautiful Maine Coon cat author and star. Sadly, Nimbus, who was also a Maine Coon and part of Pumpkinpuddy’s family has just passed away.  Please stop by to pay your respects to this special cat by posting a cat-dolence comment for him. As you know, our beloved Zee is a Maine Coon, so we know just what a special boy Nimbus was and how much he will be missed.

On a very different note, I would like to mention a fantastic fund-raiser I found as a way to donate on behalf of animals in the aftermath of the devastating disaster in Japan. It is called Japan Animal Aid  and it is a program initiated by  World Vets  They have created an official donation page as well as a  “ChipIn widget” for those who prefer paypal and wish to share on social media sites. Due to their wonderful efforts, over 150 pet blogs have united to donate and share this link and all of us at the Chronicle Connection are proud to be included in that number. The funds raised will be used for veteranary programs, ground resuces, supplies, shelter, and food. We truly hope you will find it in your hearts to help out.
