Wordless Wednesday – Window Dressing with the Cats
It’s that time of year – I dig out the one sweatshirt I own and have to wear socks with my shoes. “Big Red,” our thick and fuzzy red blanket comes out of storage to cover the bed. Yes, it’s our annual cold spell in South Florida and we have to do our best to ward off the chill until it’s back to our typical 70/80 degree temperatures, which should probably be tomorrow if I’m correct. For the cats it means three things – extra snuggling time together, zoomies at night, and OPEN WINDOWS!!
Yup, for my gang, since they don’t go outside, the next best thing is soaking up the sun and absorbing all the whiffs that an open window allows! The guest bedroom is the window of choice and so for Wordless Wednesday, I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite recent window pictures along with a bonus “zoomie” picture. Have a lovely week all – is it open window season where you are too?

Depending on the moment, the guest bedroom window can attract a single visitor, or draw a crowd as seen here. It’s not open yet, but it’s best to be ready just in case!

Finally! Fresh, glorious air! The window is open and Jazmine and Peanut are reveling in the sights, smells, and sounds that are assaulting their senses.

Jazmine has had enough of the window sill and decides to share the fresh air and sun puddle with Peanut.

Jazmine has left Peanut alone – she probably heard a noise in the kitchen and went to investigate in case it was food. All that fresh air can make a kitty hungry!

Nope! Looks like Jazmine was waiting for Peanut to leave so she could grab the pillow on the floor! Nice of her to let Kizmet have the window sill!
It’s a stretch for me to feel bad for Floridians experiencing a cold snap when we’re looking at teens and single digits up in Virginia. 🙂
But everything is relative, right? To you, it’s freezing down there!
No open windows for us. We had some below zero weather in WI. Beautiful photos.
Beautiful kitty kats

My cats all love window whiffing.

We’re very lucky to have a safe garden with a cat-proof fence. We love fresh air too. Purrs
It is too cold for open windows here. I can go into the garden if I want to but I prefer to lie in front of the log fire. Jazmine and Peanut are enjoying the fresh air. Is that another kitty I see in the first photo, between the pillows and peering over the sheet?
Awww, everyone looks so warm and cozy in the sun puddles. Now you all are making me sleepy – nap time.
Open windows ! Bwahahahaha ! It’s 15 degrees outside right now !
Windows open with fresh air, ahhhh. I agree, once the summer heat ends in this Texas place my energy returns because we open the windows, curtains, and blinds. Enjoy those window smells. Yummmmmmy!
It is about 20 degrees here right now, if it gets over 50 in the winter, they can have a window whiff. Great photos of all your beautiful cats.
We don’t get open windows and we haven’t had the zoomies yet! We’re just curling up into floofy balls to stay warm.
Those open windows and zoomies sound like so much fun! It’s been in the teens at night here, so we’re keeping OUR windows closed! 🙂
Such gorgeous cats! They look even more gorgeous on “Big Red”. Love the idea of cats as “window dressing”.
