Zee and Zoey’s Blog Nominated for Two Prestigious Dogtime 2014 Pettie Awards
In light of all that has been going on lately, I could easily be hired for an acting role on the Walking Dead without the need to audition… Even with makeup on I look like a Zombie and despite that I know I am supposed to be taking care of myself, that falls into the category of “easier said than done.” My emotional state is beyond fragile, so when I found out Zee and Zoey’s blog had been nominated for two Pettie Awards, you can only imagine that I broke down in a flood of humble gratitude for all of you that have supported us along the way…
We have been nominated for Best Designed Blog which we always appreciate – we want our stunning kitty photographs, charming graphics, and compelling writing to entertain you each and every time you visit our blog and we are happy to know that we have achieved that goal since you supported us in that category!
Rolz says think what you want, but he knows he’s the creative genius at Zee and Zoey’s!
But even more touching is the nomination for Best Blog Post for the post we did to honor the passing of our beloved Mr. Jazz who went to the Rainbow Bridge on August 28th, 2013, entitled “A Tribute to Mr. Jazz – The Dignity of Life and Death and Finding the Beauty in Letting Go.”
The outpouring of love and support you all shared with us during that difficult time will never be forgotten and it is especially poignant as we struggle to come to terms with the unexpected loss of Harley a couple of weeks ago. As with Jazz, the support and friendship you have given us to help ease the pain as we mourn Harley’s passing has been overwhelming and it makes this Pettie nomination all the more special to us because win or lose, we know what true friendship is and we are forever grateful to have all of you in our lives.
Sure, the human thinks she is responsible for the stellar writing at Zee and Zoey’s but Peanut and Mia spill the beans and show everyone who’s really running the show… (Side note – this picture is from 2012 and if you look closely, that is a picture of Harley on the computer screen)
Thank you again to everyone for your love and support – we fully admit that the competition is stiff and that we don’t expect a victory. We love everyone we are up against and wish all of them and everyone else the best of luck.

I know it’s been rough seas for you lately, and the Petties didn’t help much, either, the way they were handled this year. We feel much the same as you do. We were one of the ones initially “left out” (and to be honest, feel a bit uncomfortable and almost unwelcome with all the hard feelings swimming around).
It’s just been a really awful past few months for so many people that we are close to this summer. I completely understand the feeling you describe: the feeling of being so terribly brittle and fragile. I so wish I could do something to make you feel less this way!
It would be a dear and cherished thing for you to win to honor Jazz and Harley’s memories. Rooting for you!!!

Maxwell, Faraday & Allie – Thank you for your kindness and understanding. The whole Petties situation has just left me sad at the moment. So many people that I care deeply about are being affected by it all and that is too bad. But, the bottom line is, you deserve your nomination and you should be proud of it. What happened with DogTime was a mistake that they made, not you, and it is not fair that you or others feel uncomfortable. I am just hoping that there can be a positive to this – maybe it will cause them to reexamine how the contest is structured moving forward.
