Some kitties are allowed to be outdoor cats though. We know that because of all the visitors we get in our yard that come to peek in our windows to say \u201chello\u201d to us. This post is for those kitties and for the other outdoor kitties that we have not met yet, that we want to be safe and sound. And even though we are not really fans of dogs, we think this post would be good for them too. We don\u2019t know if this gadget is available nationwide \u2013 we know for sure it is something that is being tested locally in South Florida – but we give the concept 5 out of 5 paws and think it is really Mews-Worthy!

AT&T will be selling a new GPS-locator device marketed toward pet owners \u2013 allowing them to follow their dogs, cats or other non-human loved ones via a computer or smart phone. According to this article in the Sun Sentinel<\/a>, \u201cThe device called the Garmin GTU 10 is being touted as ideal for tracking pets and property\u00a0 via the Web-based Garmin Tracker service, which works with computers, smartphones and compatible Garmin n\u00fclink devices. The GTU 10 is a small, lightweight waterproof device and easily attaches to a pet collar. Or attach to a backpack, bicycle, laptop or any other property you want to keep a close eye on.\u201d<\/p>\n

The device might seem kind of pricey – $199.00 for the first year and $49.00 each year after for renewal. But the peace of mind and potential safety it offers a pet owner\/lover is invaluable. Nothing is scarier than having a pet run off and you can\u2019t find them. You might spend hours walking or driving around your neighborhood wasting valuable time looking for your pet, not knowing where to begin.\u00a0 The tracker shows the pet owner the past 10 locations of the pet per day, and as long as the device is on the pets collar, it could conceivably bring you back to your pet in minutes.
