When April showers don’t bring May flowers, the best thing to do is improvise… especially when it involves a sweet kitty!<\/p><\/div>\n

They say \u201cApril showers bring May flowers.\u201d I\u2019m not sure who \u201cthey\u201d is. Here in South Florida, April was a really dry month and as a result, some of our outdoor flowers have been suffering. But to keep in spirit with the saying, I thought I\u2019d share some May flowers \u2013 just the kind that don\u2019t require any rain!<\/p>\n

That\u2019s our sweet Jazmine from 2014 – doesn\u2019t she just melt your heart? She looks like such a baby there! She\u2019s all grown up now, with a full and fluffy coat to boot! Have a great Wednesday everyone \u2013 and what\u2019s the weather been like where you are?<\/p>\n

Jazmine… you embrace all the wonderfulness there is in weird and we love you all the more for it!<\/p><\/div>\n

On another note, I want to thank everyone thus far who has contributed snippets on the weird, strange, or crazy habits their cat has for my upcoming book project. I\u2019ve gotten some really great responses and I\u2019m so happy to see the stories.<\/p>\n

If you haven\u2019t sent anything yet, you still have plenty of time \u2013 the submission deadline is Sunday, May 22, so put on your thinking-cats and give it a whirl. And don\u2019t forget, it doesn\u2019t necessarily have to be weird cat habits or behaviors \u2013 it could be the weird habits YOU<\/strong> have as a result of loving cats so much!!<\/p>\n

Thank you again \u2013 I will share more details about what\u00a0the book will be about in the months to come, but for now, I\u2019m keeping the cat in the bag. But the bottom line is this \u2013 far too many people think cats are solitary creatures – too standoffish and aloof to make great pets. All of us know that\u2019s just nuts! Sure, some cats can be quiet, or aloof, or independent, but\u00a0that\u2019s fine.<\/p>\n

They\u00a0can also be funny, silly, quirky, charming, and so much more. Just like people, they come in a variety of colors, shapes, sizes, and personalities and we should love them for their uniqueness! They make incredible, loving companions and we want more of them to be adopted in forever homes!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
