If there was ever a perfect cat to represent what happy is, that would be our Jazmine. Just look at that precious face – not a care in the world – a sure sign that she is well taken care of and loved.<\/p><\/div>\n

There\u2019s far too much negativity, strife, heartache, stress, and difficulty in this world, so when there\u2019s an occasion for happy, I\u2019m on board. Especially when the happy involves cats, my all-time favorite thing ever! That\u2019s right, as inspired by the CATalyst Council<\/a>, September is Happy Cat Month, a month dedicated to ensuring our companion cats are happy, healthy, enriched, and valued.<\/p>\n

Hmmm\u2026. Well, I think I have that list covered and then some. The pictures and examples I could share about my feline gang could go on for days, but in fairness to the fact you all have lives and can\u2019t spend the next 72 hours or more at your computers\u00a0reading my post, I will share but a fraction of the things that make my cats happy. For me, my list is much shorter. If they\u2019re happy, then I\u2019m happy. Simple as that.<\/p>\n

\"1-kiz\"<\/a>

Kizmet says happiness is a well-used scratching post. Not only is it a way to keep furniture from being damaged, but providing scratching outlets is important to a cat’s health and well-being.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"2.JazminePeanut\"<\/a>

For Jazmine, not much makes her happier than the thrill of the hunt. That’s why having lots of interactive toys for her\u00a0is so important. Peanut is in tow, wondering just where Jazmine is going to stash her “kill.”<\/p><\/div>\n

\"3.miaandrolz\"<\/a>

We occasionally let the cats outside (under complete supervision) and munching on non-toxic greens keeps Rolz and Mia very happy.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"4.Peanut\"<\/a>

According to Peanut, having an area to nap and absorb the sun is one of the best ways ever to be happy and content.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"5.zee\"<\/a>

Zee agrees with Peanut, but prefers his comfortable napping spot to be the couch where he can be near his beloved humans.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"6-Zoey-admired\"<\/a>

For Zoey, a sliver of sunshine is the key to her well-being and she absorbs it like a regal Queen of the Nile. My function is to admire her, which I always do.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"7.treats\"<\/a>

Having treats is a two-fold key to happiness – the kitties love them, but it also encourages a favorable bond between them and myself as the provider.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"12.condo\"<\/a>

Location, location, location. For cats, to feel safe and secure, it’s all about providing them with plenty of vertical space and in our house, we have several strategically placed cat condos that they love.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"8.BigRedCats\"<\/a>

Making a bed is secondary to the cats happiness – we would never dream of disturbing their nap time when they are that content.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"9.Cat-mess\"<\/a>

What’s the big deal with a mess if it means the cats are happy? This is pretty much what we wake up to every day – but it is important to make sure the cats have a variety of toys to play with to keep them fit – both physically and mentally,<\/p><\/div>\n

\"11.window\"<\/a>

We call it “Squirrel TV” but to the cats it brings them to their intuitive roots of stalking\u00a0prey.\u00a0So not only do I feed the birds and squirrels for the birds and squirrels themselves, I do it so that the cats don’t lead a completely sedentary and boring life. This helps keep them from fighting with one another in my multi-cat home.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"13.DebCats2\"<\/a>

While all of the above is important, perhaps most important is me (and Dan too). As their guardians, not only do we\u00a0provide them with warm and loving laps to cuddle on, but we\u00a0make sure that they are fed nutritious foods, that they have a safe and comfortable home , that they are taken to the vet on a regular basis to ensure they are healthy, and so much more.<\/p><\/div>\n
