Make sure that you have a litter box, food and water dishes, toys, a window for her to look out of, scratching posts, a safe hiding area such as a cat tower with a cubby, and bedding until she feels more comfortable in the rest of the house.<\/p>\n

3. Define your home for a cat\u2019s need for vertical space -Because cats are territorial, access to vertical space is a necessity so make sure cats have access to high shelving and cat trees\/condos (connected like a superhighway) where they can go around the room without touching the floor.<\/span><\/p>\n

4. Have lots of toys for your cat – playtime will keep your cat active and healthy.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0Brush your cat – not only will it keep her coat tangle free, it will feel good and encourage bonding with you.<\/p>\n

6. Keep the litter box clean – it will lessen the possibility of “accidents” happening\u00a0and is much healthier for your cat.<\/p>\n

7. Have your cat\u00a0spayed or neutered – not only is it healthier for the cat, but negative\u00a0behavioral issues that can result from an unaltered cat can be greatly reduced.<\/p>\n

Most importantly – enjoy! Having a cat in your life will bring you years of love, joy, and companionship. And giving a shelter cat a good home is one of the most fulfilling things you can do!\u00a0\u00a0I believe that and so does Hill\u2019s!
